  1. It pains me to say I agree with Hellbird. Also, found the article spot on with regards to the defense and the pic. Pic did not have a caption, just so happened to mention Brady next to it in that paragraph. Good luck in the contests.
  2. I can't attend this game, but will be eager to hear the results. BBHS's cupboards are not bare as some think with the talented Senior class gone. Bryce Donnely, the Junior receiver, is as athletically gifted as anyone in NKY. They have some good size on the line too. I am a fan of the resurgent Youth football program in Dayton and hope we will see it help the Varsity ranks this year or in the near future.
  3. 7 Holy Cross 5 Newport Catholic 3 Cooper 2 Lloyd Memorial 1 Ryle 1st Tiebreaker Holy Cross
  4. Very evenly matched scrimmage. The CC O line has 4 new faces and they did very well. Cov Cath was very effective with the Jet Sweep and the toss, but not so much between the tackles. CC was effective between the tackles and have some work to do on the edges. Both teams QB's did well for this being the first scrimmage. Both had some risky throws, but they also were both also able to move the ball. CC receivers (Mayer, Comer, Sandman) had some nice runs after catches.
  5. Please see this link for scrimmages: Scrimmages
  6. This team has some solid defense returning, they beat the Birds "twice".
  7. @Clyde , I agree. Saw him this past Spring in track and was impressed by his physique. The thing about this player that is most impressive is his speed. Ran a 4.73 laser this summer at 241 pounds.
  8. Who got the RB reps with the second squad?

  12. Congratulations to Ryan Moore on achieving All American status by placing 7th at the Fargo Freestyle Nationals. Great achievement for a KY wrestler.
  13. Don't most teams do their own fundraisers for this reason?

  15. Dylan Hampton (SR) is back from his injury. Ran sub 12 in the 100 m this past spring while rehabilitating and should be ready. Junior Parks had knee surgery this Spring, status unknown.
  16. Dead period ended last Friday. Practice should start today.

  18. This is from ATL Cat's recent post, with regards to chances of the runner's up winning this year: 2015 Runner-Up's: Ranking the Chances of Winning a Title in 2016 Can those in the know fill us in on the returning talent?
  19. A topic that is not new to BGP, but something that is somewhat a reality check for parents. Bigger, stronger, faster: How redshirting is changing H.S. sports Reality check for parents with younger players is this from the article: "If holding your kid back gives them a physical advantage and you're that serious about making your kid a big-time star, you're only getting rewarded for it," Farrell said. "Honestly, it's a very interesting strategy because (recruiting analysts) don't care. Colleges don't care. If you're a class of 2015 (prospect) and you're 19 and there's another 2015 kid who's 16 — they don't care." I met a very nice guy at a college camp and he must have told me 5 times that his player was young for his class. I know of the player and he does have the size and has potential, but it seems from the gist of this article, colleges don't care. Any insight from BGP on a college coach seeing youth as an advantage in the players recruiting prospect?
  20. I found this link the other day. Gives some insight into the aid/scholarship: Football Scholarships & Chances of Playing College Football
  21. Congrats to Parker! In my opinion, the hardest working player in NKY and definitely one to watch.
  22. Campbell County defeats Ohio County 5-1 to advance to the quarterfinals of the State Tournament to face Hazard.
