Who is playing QB for Cooper? Highlands has to game plan to take Hendrix out of the mix. Seem to remember that Cooper has a running back returning, but was a little "slight" on size?

Gosney has to play with confidence and not force things that are not there. OL and DL need to control line of scrimmage.

To me the game hinders on how well Highlands can take away Hendrix which puts pressure on the DB's. If they are somewhat successful with that, then LB's need to step up and make plays at the line of scrimmage.

I think Cooper will take this one. They have a good RB and Hendrix can stretch the field. Cooper's defense is also stingy. I think the game hinges on whose OL/DL plays the best, but I am giving the nod to Cooper

The running back probably isn't any smaller than TCA last year. Whether he is as skilled, remains to be seen. Jackson did not play in the scrimmage against Boone. Schlarman was the main RB and got some help from a sophomore who is smaller than TCA but plays much bigger than his frame would indicate. Hendrix finds a way to get behind the DBs and then he is able to pluck the ball out of the air. Cooper had two long plays to Hendrix against Boone in the scrimmage, both TDs. Another long play came from a QB run around the end. I don't recall if it was a broken play or designed.

The strength of Cooper is still the defense.

This is a tough one. I predicted Cooper but because this is the first game and we really don't know what the team has outside of Hendrix and Schlarman, it's tough to predict.

The lines on both sides of the ball are so new for Cooper that this and the QB play will be the big question mark. But just like the last 4 years the QB was the big question mark going into the season also so that is nothing new for Cooper fans.

I don't know enough about Highlands from last year to have even the slightest clue on how good they will be. A lot of questions will be answered Friday Night. The one thing going for Cooper is Coach Borchers usually puts a pretty decent defense on the field so I give that nod to the Jags out of the 2 teams.

Highlands has 3 OL returning that saw action last year in Finfrock, Davidson and Dunn (2 guards and a tackle). Defensive front has little experience outside of Johnson, but understand they did play okay against St. X. Questions that I have are where is Luke Meyer playing and Crosley New?

Keep reading and hearing about kids not lining up right. What exactly does that mean? If you cannot line up right and it continues to be a problem then I guess you go to the next option and not wait several weeks into the season to do so.

Highlands started off slow last season, with a 1-5 start. They did right the ship, making it to the state semifinals where they took a 31-41 loss to Pulaski County. Cooper also had a nice season finishing 10-3, with a one point loss to Simon Kenton in the 3rd round of the playoffs. Who wins and why?
