I can't attend this game, but will be eager to hear the results.

BBHS's cupboards are not bare as some think with the talented Senior class gone. Bryce Donnely, the Junior receiver, is as athletically gifted as anyone in NKY. They have some good size on the line too.

I am a fan of the resurgent Youth football program in Dayton and hope we will see it help the Varsity ranks this year or in the near future.

Don't want to make any prediction other to say people will likely be surprised with how much better this Dayton team is than in the past few years.

They moved the ball at will against Newport last week and were able to finish drives. They are big and strong on the line, and are able to rotate guys in and out on defense which is tremendously helpful. Their skill guys are faster and stronger, and still competing for starting spots.

The team needs to stay focused and don't get down on themselves. Hoping for a good season.

And the injury bug bites again. You couldn't make this crap up. Will have to soldier on.

What are you referring to?

One of our key guys got hurt in scrimmage. Not sure on status at this point.

Debating between attending this one or Cooper / Highlands. Thought this would be close last year and it was not at all. I think Dayton is improved and BB will have to improve as the season goes on to do anything in 1A playoffs but not sure how much the gap was closed in a year. Maybe I'll see how it goes in the first half and can always bolt and make it to Highlands for second half of that game.

I'm looking forward to this one. I'm not comfortable in making a prediction, but think it should be close.

How much depth would you say they have in the backfield based on what you know so far? I haven't gotten to watch any scrimmages or watch them practice any. I thought that I remembered seeing you post something about their backfield in another thread.

Dayton has 2 solid junior backs, one of which can also play qb and receiver. We have 2 other guys that will see a lot of carries, both more fullback types with some speed and strength. There is another guy who is moving to tailback from receiver, who really surprised in the scrimmages, a little undersized but a senior.

Should be a good battle in the trenches. Need to keep make Martin out of the backfield. Dayton has a few lineman, Norman, Matthews, Lukens who are looking forward to the challenge. These guys have been starters since their freshman year, and to say they are hungry would be an understatement.

Just a heads up, as of this evening the field was a mess. Supposed to be soccer tomorrow but I'm hearing it may be moved or postponed. Thus, the football game could be affected, as well. I think if the rain holds off, it should be good. Will post here when I know for sure.

I'm sure that the linemen are. Don't think there was ever a time with that many freshmen starting, but when the numbers were as low as they had gotten, there isn't any getting around it. I'm hoping it pays off for them this season, guess we will see.

Please post if there's any changes to the game, I plan on going.
