  1. Yes they would be and I believe would open with the Braves??
  2. You are correct, I did not notice that. They are playing 58 games, and I think this hurts them after seeing their schedule. I know they play the Double A Pirates but they also have the Brew crew for several games. I think I saw around 3-4 Double Header games and I think it bodes well for the Redlegs.
  3. Senzel is a true infielder Cincy Sports fan, it where he has played the most truthfully. I know he has not that much for the Reds but the way Shogo is swinging the bat I would not sit him over Galvis or Garcia. Senzel needs to be in the line-up these last couple games in case he can get hot and be a weapon. Those other two are not. I agree with the schedule, we get the Whitesox at home and need to go 2-1, then the Brewers same story 2-1. The last 3 against the Twins we got to hope that maybe they will sit some guys with being locked in already. However they are in a battle with the Whitesox for first. What a division that has been in this 60 game season. I think 6-3 gets us in. Unfortunately some of those games missed by the Cards were against good teams and they did not have to make them up with the Covid debacle they had. A big question is Sonny Gray, if we get in we have to hope he is available.
  4. Does anyone know anything on Senzel? They brought him back for this series and he hasn’t played? Put him for Garcia or Galvis and we could be dangerous. Or use Farmer more. Galvis is 202 avg and Garcia 201 🙄
  5. I’m so glad this team won tonight despite David Bell. He allows Garrett to pitch to 5-6 guys and he was struggling big time. Lucky we didn’t lose in the 9th. Why in the world would you not pull him after walking two and only one out. People that don’t follow the Reds like us don’t realize this is the worst manager that I’ve witnessed a pro team having.
  6. Can we sweep these guys and get back in this thing? We can do this and get healthy. Once in playoffs who the heck knows.
  7. Disco would have not pitched once he let that guy on in the top. It’s a seven inning game and we had the lead. Poor Bell.
  8. We just brought in our worst two relievers in a big spot. Let’s hope it’s staying one run. Why would we not go to our big 3?
  9. Out of the original opening day line up we do not have a player batting over 230. Could be a historic season for hitting. It is mind boggling to me how bad they have been. Bell has no idea how to use a bullpen or pitching staff.
  10. Adding salt to the wound Gray to the DL and I promise you they go get Sal Romano.
  11. Senzel was supposed to be ready to come back for this series but he has not. Been out about 6 weeks with Covid apparently
  12. This will be the 19th game with 5 hits or less. No way you can be consistent in winning games when you hit this poorly.
  13. I ask this question? Would you go to a 4 man rotation rest of the way? Treat every game like a game 7 with scoring and moving runners? Use bullpen more now?
  14. Think about this for a second, Colon, Janikowski, Vanmeter, Ervin and Davidson, all were used at some point in big spot as pinch hitters. Collectively I would think they had around 10-15 hits for the season, batting average around 125 for the group. I would be willing to bet we used some of them as starters in the same games yet now we have sent them packing, and truthfully I am glad we did. Not every day players, and some have been given chance after chance to be one. Bell has lost the guys that matter on this team, and our hitting coach has messed with some of their mechanics if you watch them from last season and their stances for example. This team has a lot of walks but then it gets to a weak hitter, and the inning is over, we had 5 BB walks last night and 8 against the Cubs Sunday and only one of them scored and a HR. Having played those guys someone has to be held accountable, if management. Stephenson and Aquino should have been her all along, they will be counted on next season. The Reds would not pull the trigger on the Marlins catcher a couple years ago and he is really good for the Phillies. Castellanos, Moustakas, and Akiyama are above 280 average hitters, so something had to change them in my opinion. I wished they would understand its a 60 game season but he has not. And after 20 games in he was jerking people out and sitting them already. If a shooter is 0-2 from 3, I wouldn't jerk him out. If I am 0-2 in a baseball game after 5 innings, and you take me out I can not go 2-2 in 6th-9th. I think he pulls them way too much, and it kills them mentally. Sitting them for a game would be better than what he does.
  15. Last night made 17 games where we have not had more than 5 hits in a game. Votto on the road has O RBI and O HR, batting an abysmal .65. This team has quit and I think it is all on Bell. He takes people out of games, and hammers their confidence. You can not do this to baseball players in particular. They have not bunted all year, moved runners, etc. If you look at the Cubs batters last night they had one guy in their lineup with an average more than 250 yet they win games. It has. been hard to watch and this team has potetnial of being really good. Sad days to be a Reds fan!
  16. One of the main gripes, and I have several, is that we don't take into consideration it appears that it is a 60 game season. Disco was struggling big time last night, and I thought should have been taken out way before he gave up the HR. He was at 90 pitches and you are still in the game. If he was removed last night I feel like the Reds would have won that game. We continue to do bone head things as a coaching staff, and they have lost the players. I think they truly hate playing for this guy. I have no idea what the management looks at. Some of the decisions they make are like they are high school coaches punishing a kid. If you are 0-2 in the first 5 innings you are coming out and PH for. It is like taking a player out for missing a shot. This team might not be good enough to compete with the Dodgers, but they should be in the playoffs with this roster. Disappointing up to this point.
  17. Well we have witnessed this before with Iglesias, should probably be a set up man, if he is on his game you could roll him into the 9th, however he is no closer at all, and does not have the mentality of toughing out the 9th. Over 10 losses last year. Already 3 this year. However Bell is the worst manager in baseball, and true coaching doesn't start to the 8th in my opinion, that is when the big decisions are made, and truthfully he has given away 4-5 games this year that fall on him and his lineups and position playing. If I was a player I would hate playing for him, he plays whoever and whenever taking away confidence that hitters play with. We have players struggling and some of that is on him. Now tell me why we have Vanmeter, Irvin and a guy in Colon, that we just let go outright batting in the DH spot when we have Aquino and Stephenson not on the roster, it just baffles me. Aquino has more HR's than those 2 combined in their careers, while Stephenson has more RBI's in the one game he played than they do all year. This team is dangerous with the starting pitching, but bullpen will cost them any chance at competing in it and Bell as the manager. Suarez, Votto, both batting averages are below 225, hard to win when those two have stunk along with our catchers. We have like 3 guys total batting over 250.
  18. Eastern, Trinity and Ballard will put Manual always 4/5 in the region. They have good young kids coming but PG is not coming with that group. Those 3 teams have coaches that have won state titles and two that have won numerous. Welcome to the big leagues.
  19. Not even close to interesting. Male is loaded and will be for a while. Maybe in 4-5 years.
  20. It’s actually in Leslie County based on how the river bends around the school. When it was public school Leslie and Clay fought over it all the time. Phone number is a clay co land line. Early 90’s through 1998 they were really good. They were in the same district as Bell, Pineville and Middlesboro. They were probably the second best team in the region a couple times but Clay was loaded. John D Wilson hall of fame coach did an awesome job while he was there.
  21. I have been upset as most all of you have that we are not a 2 seed period. We have 5 losses and all of them we had a shot to win. Only two losses as of now in the SEC and both in OT. Evansville was in November with people hurt and sick. All the teams have crazy losses. They truly hate Coach Cal.
  22. This year especially the tournament will be based on matchups even more. If we can stay away from teams that drive it and offensive rebound like mad men I like our chances. Guard play wins in the tournament and we have 3 really good ones at times. Cal did take Hagans out today and last year in the tourney he refused too. Think he understands what I was watching today too.
