A true legend and a friend. Lives that he has impacted over the years is what makes Coach Drury so special. Growing as a young coach over the years I owe a lot to Coach Drury. Very special and I am very appreciative for what he has done in my career and basketball in our state.

Yes Kiser played there and graduated in 1992, he got hurt if I recall and did not play in the regional tournament and I think they lost to Nicholas County.

Until this year the 31st district had always played their championship game on Saturday night so they could not do the draw on Saturday. However this year everyone was done on Friday. If all (4) districts agree to be finished by Friday night then there would not be a reason to not draw on Saturday. They did have the floor re-painted and re-done this year, they have added the video board, the big fans, and sound system. It would be great to have some cool air pouring down, with the gym being that old I don't know if the moisture would be an issue. Great first round games and good luck to all.

Us in the 8th region know that Spencer has been good before. You just seem to discredit that and the Regional final team. Also a district champion I might add and it puzzles us why you act like Spencer has never been good till now. They've been good before and they have a good team now. Loving your team is fine and we all appreciate the excitement you have for them but you just go overboard with it sometimes

We had all of this discussion last season, the region is as wide open as it has been in quite sometime, the draw will be a really BIG deal on the Sunday after the district dust has settled. I would be scared of Anderson as well, they beat Spencer last season, and they have a HOF coaching staff as well as a kid that can beat you on any night. However last year the big kid really hurt Spencer and the game plan was perfect for beating them. Everyone is 0-0 after this weekend.

I do recall that Collins beat Gallatin in the regional tourney last year and it was a barn bunner, and for the most part I think Gallatin is better than last year. Jon Jones in the regional tourney..good luck with that, they will be a hard out. For the LIT ratings, they go by margin of victory, don't count out of state wins, SOS, wins and losses of course. Not a big fan of them. Gallatin went down to Gatlingurg and that doesn't count for them, and Oldham went to Florida and those would not count for them as well.

Kentucky did just produce the best player in the country not to long ago, and won MVP of the McDonald's game, Erin Boley, our state is loaded with great talent in girls all the way down the freshmen levels, watch the Ky Premier teams and you'll see them play. We have several at different positions that are top 5 in the country at their position.

Yes it would make larger districts and renew great rivalries. I don't have an issue with 5-6 teams districts with 1 and 2 seeds getting buys if that's the only down fall. Spencer in the 5th makes a lot of sense. Some regions will have to be bigger unfortunately and some smaller like the 1st region. You have Kenton for example with 3 schools all in different regions which is mind boggling to me. The 8th that I used as an illustration the teams are 15-20 minutes apart. Same can be said about the 4 northern schools I moved out.

Actually leaves out Walton, Williamstown, Grant, Simon Kenton and Spencer. By the way the Girls region is held at Simon Kenton this year. Almost 2 hour drive for Spencer County for example. I know Simon made the trip to Shelby a couple years back because the girls rotate the regional site. Just seems unfair to all involved

29th Oldham,South, North, KCD 30th Anderson, Frankfort, Franklin Western Hills 31 Shelby, Collins, Eminence, Henry 32 Gallatin Owen Carroll Trimble I know this moves 4 teams out and they could make their own 4 team district in the 9th. Yes it makes the 9th huge but it makes it better for all the teamswuth travel, competition, expenses etc. However this will never happen. I would not be concerned with size of regions and districts as it helps in to many other areas for kids. Which are the most important anyway.

I don't get not using Memorial Coliseum, however I think they are probably saving money using the same venue, and have heard that they would be during the same week eventually.

You guy see now why I don't even think about my pre-season rankings until summer, transfers, injury's and coaching shakes out. Way to early folks, like the excitement....

Used it as my go too pitch my junior and senior year at THE ROCK in the mid 80's after moving from middle reliever to starting pitcher. It lengthened my baseball career by a few years an saved my elbow and shoulder for baseball at the college level at CVC.

Stanley is good player for sure in the 8th region, not top 10 in the state however

Steve is happy doing what he is doing at Embry Riddle, would be shocked if he ever coached high school again. Great gig, working for a great guy
