James Graham Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 Five Kentucky girls in the Top 100 recruits in the country... I think 7 total Kentucky nominations to this game and NOT ONE MADE IT??? Ridiculous. McDonald’s All American Game girls rosters revealed | USA TODAY High School Sports
Woodland Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 Everyone of those girls are signed by a top D1 school, no wonder they are all the Mc Donalds All Americans. Does Kentucky have a top D1 signed girl. Kentucky athletics isn't very good compared to the rest of the country.

Molly Lockhart UofL 4. Grace Berger-IU 5. Blair Green-UK 6. Kiaja Harbison- St. Louis 7. Can’t remember 7th Nominated Anna Clephne - Ball State Emmy Souder -NKU Emma Davis - UT Martin Macey Turley- Murray St Taylor Clos-NKU Ally Niece NKU Emily Sexton-Butler Macey Gibson- Murray State Lexy Held- DePaul. You have to live under a rock to miss out on how big girls basketball has been in the state of KY the past few years. Either stuck under a rock, or mad your daughter/team doesn’t get a slice of the D-1 cake. Maybe a little of both? Edited January 18, 2018 by johndeere Left out info
UKMustangFan Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 They select 24 players each year. The highest ranked KY girl was #29 in the ESPN rankings I saw. I'm sure they didn't just take the top 24 ranked girls, and I know there's typically a lot of politicking that goes on behind the scenes with the selections, but I just don't see anything to be up in arms about.
8th Region Warrior Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 Kentucky did just produce the best player in the country not to long ago, and won MVP of the McDonald's game, Erin Boley, our state is loaded with great talent in girls all the way down the freshmen levels, watch the Ky Premier teams and you'll see them play. We have several at different positions that are top 5 in the country at their position.
James Graham Posted January 18, 2018 Author Posted January 18, 2018 I know there is always a lot of politicking for these spots, and I am not advocating for any single player. Any of the 7 girls nominated could have performed at a high level for this game. My problem is that Texas received 7 selections and the Kentucky girls out played the Texas teams on the national stage all summer long. The Commonwealth deserved at least one spot.
