D lost his biggest fan yesterday, his paternal grandfather. Expect him to be extra explosive this season as I'm sure he will be devoting his season to him. The stands won't be any less noisy, but they will be a little dimmer without his proud smile.

The other was when the Crazies ragged on the Cooper band for leaving the game after half time and the Cooper kids ragged that you could have them, only to have the Crazies cheer we don't want them and the Cooper kids cheered, neither do we. I about laughed till I had tears coming out of my eyes. One of the funniest moments I have seen at a HS basketball game between two student bodies that were having a ball cheering on their classmates, friends and team! Oh, if only it were that "wholesome".....Four BCHS girls showed up in support of CCH in "defiance" of all the guys from Ryle and BCHS who were supposed to show up against CCH. CCH starting chanting "Your girls want us!!" Then you got the rest right, Cooper said "You can have them" and CCH answered with "We don't want them" etc......The girls made a hasty departure at that point.

I know one TCM mommy who has her eyes on that prize for her kid. He is absolutely incapable, but she's 'connected' in more ways than one so I'm anxious to hear how it turns out. She refuses to believe the 5 or 6 coaches who have already told her he can't throw because she knows better! And I quote "I toss with him all the time in the backyard and he throws beautifully". End of our friendship when I asked, "In pads?"

What indication is there that Engler won't be bringing or assembling his own staff? I wonder if he has any idea how many 'assistants' he has on that very very very crowded sideline.

Recognized Little Chute as Wisconsin right away and was thinking the opponent might be from Oshkosh - for those of you who don't know, Oshkosh Truck is a huge military contractor up there and a major Oshkosh employer. Would have been a bit surprised if they managed to have one of the local high schools mascot named after them though. But alas, it is Clintonville High School in Clintonville, WI - which I know nothing about. But shouldn't the helmets be flat bills or snap backs???

I am right here, but still kinda speechless. I was totally unimpressed with AC when Cooper played them and STILL maintain that had Ludwig been able to return from the injury, this game would have been played in Hebron last night and who knows what the outcome would have been?? AC was flat against the Jags, sounds like Conner had a ton of miscues last night. Any given Friday night......

I was totally unimpressed with AC. Had Ludwig not gone down with injury, no way were they going to beat Cooper -who, lest we all forget, is awEful this season. I stand by my prediction.

The only one I care about would be 5A, and as much as I'd like to root for a NKy team, I can't help but remember the total devastation of this one dad last year who approached us after the Harlan Co. loss to Cooper. He was sobbing, I am not exaggerating one bit. Begged us to go take care of "those Purples" for them. Added a layer of sadness to our loss that we let him down too.

Having seen both squads, it's a 4 score win for Conner....E A S Y. You only have to contain one kid on the AC offense and their D was soft. Barker and friends will chew them up and spit them out. The ONLY way AC is in this game is if Barker should suffer an injury, like what happened with Ludwig on Friday night.

SORRY!!! I asked after Cooper cleaned their clocks if that was JV or Froshmore and was told there was no JV. Y'all need to get your stories straight...... If that was JV, unless "several" means 10 on each side of the ball, you got nothing next year. They were small and slow and not athletic as a group. Pleasant was the exception, although the QB was decent, didn't look to be a back-up. But I'll take your word for that. I predicted Scott's success this year based on what I saw in 2012....a roster full of Juniors who were already playing Friday nights, and although Cooper KILLED them, I saw a hungry, talented, super-fast group of ballers. I'd say 90% of those boys are graduating and I am not remotely impressed with what's coming.

Since they couldn't field a true JV squad, I'm not nearly as hopeful for the Eagles for the next season or two. What I did see on their Froshmore squad was not a competitive group in their division, unless the rest of the division falls off likewise.

Just the perfect storm against the Jags all season. Having been largely injury free for the past 3 seasons, we were without Sand, Parks, Frolly, and Cordell-Armstrong for the play-offs. Then for Ludwig to go down in the first half.....UGH! Had it been mid-third, we maybe mighta still pulled it out but the boys, especially the one who had to be next man up under center, had too much time to ponder his loss. Ludwig's a baller and I hope he gets a look somewhere at the next level. Please tell him he knows who to call when he wants to go to Lambeau!!
