Ryle REALLY needs a win here, way more than Conner does. I think Conner's fate is sealed for this season. They have "fallen off significantly" without Barker. Ryle has been hyping this group of kids, praising their new coach...their fans are all in and historically cranky when they don't win. I haven't followed them at all....who is at QB? Is England back to full speed/strength?

And that constitutes 'falling off significantly'??? Wow. Borchers needs to take these scrimmages MUCH mire seriously instead of trying to decide on a QB for the season, finalize his O line or give that senior who won't play this year one last shot. Somebody better tell him these scrimmages, not his record during the season, matter.

This amuses me to no end. Dropped off significantly after that? The title run was TWO YEARS AGO!!! Last season, we lost 5 games by one score, 3 in the 4th quarter with a new QB playing all four 6A teams in our area. And what has "dropped off" this season?? Last I looked, we're 3-0 and have only given up 3 pts on first string D.

With significantly less than 1/2 the population.....I have no idea how many square miles you're talking in either case but Boone Co. is the 3rd largest school district in the state. Should Louisville and Lexington downsize while we're at it???

But I thought Ryle had all the athletes they needed in this "super class"? What good would a kid or two from Cooper do for them?? There's no way "one big school" would work for Boone Co. From Rabbit Hash to Florence, twice a day? Graduating classes of over 1000 kids? There is more to take into account than athletics.

No interest?? I think it says a lot more about Ryle if Conner wins. This is one of two 'should wins' on their schedule at this point. I can easily see them losing to SK, CC and Dixie in their own district and does anyone think they can beat CCH?

Heard their cheerleaders were doing jumping jacks for every point scored so they are getting a workout too!

Sam is the BOMB!! Student rep to the Boone Co. Board of Ed this year. Really good kid. If I'm not mistaken, he's the one leading the chants from the band to the student section but it's hard to be sure from where I sit, and yes, he does a great job at the mike. Music a tad loud for my old fuddy-duddy ears, but the kids like his selections.

IF any of this were true, the 3 referees standing RIGHT THERE should all be removed from their jobs effective today. It's just a 16/17 year old letting his emotions get the best of him then trying to justify that.

My sons were right there and there was no cussing by a Cooper coach. One Rebel was invited to check out the scoreboard after he said this ain't powder puff football and one coach did say 'Keep talking, kid' to a mouthy opponent.

He means Cooper beats Ryle, Boone and Campbell but not his beloved SK.

Sounds like it's worth the price of admission and not too shabby a day out there.

Respectfully, who specifically looks good? NCC is the only one playing "up" and getting prepared for a legit run at a post-season. Lloyd should be scheduling teams like Beechwood or Walton-Verona, not Dayton and Owen Co. if they want to test themselves.

I thought the issues w/BC's QB were 90-95% on the center. Snap after snap at the knees or below.....hard to get going when you're scooping the ball up at your ankles to start a play. Lamb was athletic enough but I think the Jag D was better as a unit than he was as an individual, if you know what I mean.

If Smith is back on the line and someone is able to step in as effectively at DB as Hicks had been playing it, Cooper could win this one. I will predict a week of fierce preparation though....the distaste for all things Camel burns deep in Borchers' NCC heart - LOL!

Big loss for the Jags last night. Junior Cole Hicks, who had a pick in every game, broke his arm - again. Missed all of last season with the same injury, same arm. They were already down Aiden Delph and Elliot Smith on the line. Heal, boys, HEAL!! On the up side for Borchers, a frequent criticism had been that he didn't sub in the next man often enough when games were decided one way or the other. The past two games he had wholesale substitutions on both sides of the ball for most of the 4th quarter. Cordell-Armstrong's back-up - Jaden Jackson - is a really nice RB. Want to see more of him!
