People talk about the cost of the turf, which has dropped considerably. What you have to do to the field in preparation for the turf is very expensive.....it's the drainage and the filler that really drives the cost up from what I understand. So, for example, if you say "I will give you $100,000 for the turf and the turf costs $100,000...." that's great EXCEPT that everything else surrounding the preparation and installation costs another $100,000....not so great, not even close. JUST USING ROUND NUMBERS FOR ILLUSTRATIVE PURPOSES

Someone has offered to foot the bill to turf all 3 fields "time and time again" and the BOE said no??? I find that impossible to believe. Who is this person and is he/she looking to adopt??

Overall, I am VERY happy with the academic offerings, atmosphere, and administration in Boone Co. My sons are all but attending college this year, taking 5 AP classes each. Sports - for us - is just a fun diversion, not the way to college. I love our home, neighbors, and friends out here - no way am I moving when they will be moving on in two years. I can't speak for others.

Only gonna get worse.....I think there are 2-3 soccer games and Freshmen football on the field this week too. SK might want to bench a stud or two (or 12!!) for their own safety and well-being.

None of the injuries are related to the field. Hicks broke his arm. Smith tore up his knee on the practice field. Keller broke leg at Campbell Co. Ramey tore up his knee, if I'm not mistaken, also on the practice field but it was from a hit, not the ground. Just heard we have two MORE starters out due to concussion this week now.

Like Lloyd, Gallatin hasn't played any good teams yet. Unlike Lloyd, they haven't always come out on top of those. I look for another easy W for the Juggs but truly believe this soft schedule is gonna hurt 'em big time come November. They will probably lose to NCC and may lose to Newport, but other than that, it should be smooth sailing until then.

Thanks for clarifying....and I get what you're saying. I honestly thought he left before the TD. Great observations. I think we are all just used to the Kellers getting "little" (pun intended) to no respect. They play with tons of heart, have great instincts and love the game. The only thing in the minus column for them is size and that just can't be overcome. But they are juniors and I'm sure Aidan will be back next year, taking RB/QB's down and picking them back up. Hoping they use his brother at Mike in the meantime.

Hicks broke his arm against Boone, Smith wrecked his knee in practice and Keller hurt against Camels....not one game but in one week. Pretty devastating. Keller could return if all goes well, after our bye week.

Cooper's strength is their defense and it is greatly diminished by the loss of Hicks, Smith and A. Keller. It won't be a good night for my Jags. Just hoping for no more season-ending injuries and next man up for district play!!!

ACTUALLY there are TWO Kellers and one was on the bench with a fractured fibula from early- to mid-third quarter and never returned. His TWIN plays dog/monster. Sand went in for A. Keller at MLB. There's your motivation for the defensive adjustment. A. Keller was not in the game when they scored. When he left the field, Jags were up 7-0.

Cooper contained the QB the first half, with Keller in at MLB. He had about 10 tackles, a pick and a fumble recovery (fumble by the QB, btw) and he didn't even play the 3rd or 4th qtr. Camels QB had great feet, no passing ability at all. Cooper's offense was lackluster to say the least, they were given great field position time and time again by Cooper's D and couldn't punch it in. Great penetration by the Camels D though. They were quick to the ball. Campbell County will have no trouble with Ryle, will probably beat Dixie and may challenge SK. They might be the team to beat next year, depending on who graduates off that O-line and defense.

Game over. 17-7. Campbell QB very good on his feet.

Do kids care who won 10 years ago, when they were in elementary? It may mean something to beat the recent State Champs/State Runners Up, but had NCC not had those on their RECENT resume, would the SK PLAYERS care at all??

Cougars were bailing on the program during spring ball from all accounts. I'm not sure if it's Trosper's abilities being called into question as much as his people skills.
