  1. The Fort Thomas School District just announced they will be introducing their selection for Head Football coach on Monday, 1/6 3:00 at the HS.........They have their man, Guess on!
  2. Mueller coaching in 2nd season at HHS and they lost a late season District game to an upstart Ryle team with a RB (Eddie ?) who ran all over them in the rain-soaked field. Turned around and stunned a home CovCath crowd 3-0 on a Sat. to gain a rematch with a Tim Couch-lead Leslie Co. team that had handled them in the seaason opener. HHS scored 70+ pts and couch broke the Natl record for TD passes with a late Td .......Story was HHS QB M.Mason breaking hand late in the game. BG handled HHS in the final w/Mason, it could have been more interesting......great coaching season from Mueller, beginning of what was to come...........
  3. Unfortunately I have to agree with you.............if it wasn't for third class, some on here wouldn't have any! Please shut it down. Let us end it with kudos for two great teams gracing us with one of the best championship games in Ky history. These kids should be commended and their respective schools & coaching staffs saluted for proving what HS athletics should be........ a competition with hard-work, determination & commitment culmunating in an event that allows you to test yourself and prepare yourself for what lies ahead in life.......mission accomplished, time to move on. Congratulations to both teams.....
  4. No suprise here.......loves those grandkids! Good luck to Dale, you deserve to rest on your achievements, including having a great family to enjoy ! Kudos to you for again making the right choice......you will be missed.....
  5. Not position on the list...referencing for those that singled him out for being included.
  6. Interesting thread because of such a wide range of possibilities including leaders, personal accomplishments/contribution, politics, wars, etc......... I would personally include the Henry Ford leader of the industrial revolution types I am disappointed with the slighting of President Lincoln . Lincoln held this country together through a civil war that allowed this country to develop into the most powerful nation in the world. His stance on slavery affected not just this country but views on slavery worldwide... people like MLK & Mandela stood on the shoulders of what Lincoln accomplished.
  7. The "forgotten lot" of 8th graders aren't bad either sporting a 5-2 record ........just sayin.:sssh:
  8. Take away Louisville powerhouses, make Highlands less than "untouchable", add the season of Bowling Green & DeSales to small school regulars, NCC & Mayfield , are we looking at the closest parity among classes in recent years? Consider that John Hardin played 2A DeSales, 4A HHS, and 5A BG to within exactly 5 points and beat Meade Co by 10 ........ Is that coincidence, a good team in JH or parity?
  9. I think it should last until the first Friday in December ! :jump:
  10. The reality is that some people do make the decision based on: Travel distance - no question BG v Louisville is a negative factor quality of opponent - even die hards w/no connection will skip if blowout is likely frequency of event - think about 7 in a row, lots of driving.....I know HS/MS kids that are not interested, some have "been/done it" most of their lives (no kids= no parents) and have lost interest (look at CovCath/HHS playoff game) Great problem to have for sure but the current situation does hamper the attendance/interest....that being said, HHS is always represented well regardless.
  11. It is conceivable that only one will make the finals...... BG
  12. This is a get healthy week for HHS and they need it ! Gonna see a glimpse of some future stars in this one........ Kendall at RB, Daugherty at RB and Hergott at Qb could see lots of time on the ball side. If Austin Hergott is healthy, could we see Hergott to Hergott..... Dad would be proud!
  13. Walter..... Excellent post....a few thoughts to add, Beechwood, in years they are winning state titles are beating the NCC & Covcath caliber teams and they haven't been doing that and haven't been winning state titles, close but not this year. NCC has a chance, the type of team & program that can string late season win streaks that take them to title games....could happen again as they are streaking Scott great season but not balanced.....Conner, better chance but up & down week to week spells little chance of putting five wins together HHS is a prohibitive favorite BUT, don't discount JC....their style of play has challenged Highlands in the past & I'm hearing their talent level on both sides is strong. If HHS is healthy and doesn't "giveaway" too many opportunities they will proceed to #7 SK is the only possible candidate here, don't see Dixie making a run. SK, as someone referenced "has a punchers chance" being in uncharted waters and hitting the big stage will likely leave them short as well. That being said, hope I'm wrong and NKY brings home a few!
  14. If you want to compare successes being state championships (v. someone's opinion) you can look at the last 10 years and say hey, they're pretty close. 2003-2012 State Champions NKy 16 Louisville 15 (HHS 7, CovCath 1, NCC 4, Holy Cross 1, Beechwood 3) (Trinity 8, St X 2, Central 5) 2003-2012 Runner-up NKY 7 Louisville 6
  15. So was it the 13 page "Is Bowling Green the best team in the state?" thread because I only saw T v BG in there....... again, don't be over-sensitive to the idea that somehow HHS fans or anyone else owns the market on overstating their team.
  16. A little over-sensitive here....with two threads of bragging/arguing the Trinty v. BG as #1 and one HHS fan throws them in the hopper as a #2 and all of the sudden "their fans have to include them in everything" ? I thought this thread was a discussion on the top 15 teams.....I'm pretty sure HHS mention (by one fan) in this listing somewhere is warranted....don't you? I personally would have T as #1 and BG as #2 but who really cares what I think anyway I'm not a "fan" of either one:rolleyes:
  17. With the exception of flipping Caldwell Co/NCC in 2A it's the same champions as last yr.......same old, same old.....can someone pour me some water!
  18. I believe the unofficial consensus in a thread last week was NCC was about two TDs behind HHS this year so that would logically make it NCC 36 CC 8 ?
  19. Didn't Zack Harris' brother go to NCC a few years back......if so, maybe the "awful" Harris parents answered your initial question.....apparently it's Highlands:rolleyes:
  20. It seems like forever ago but I'll accept them if they qualify, Neltner goes w/out saying & Kevin could shoot the rock !
  21. I think they still play basketball at Highlands so I'll try this Ben Guiduli (not sure of year) Michael Vories (not sure of year) Greg McGraw (08) Nick Simpson (08) Steven Kowolonek (10) Others to consider: Stewart (11) Turner (13) Class of 2010 several others
  22. Refocusing this thread to its topic (if that's possible) .......aside from the six kids at SK that caught passes last season, a WR that may not be listed in preseason as deserving on this list but may be included at season's end is Ryan Greene HHS. Ryan is a little undersized (ht) but is beginning to draw interest after winning the State Title in the 400m w/impressive 49.15 time.....can really move on the field w/good feel for game and w/excellent hands. I believe he will be a standout in a deep receiving corps and excellent passing game at HHS this year. No he is not related to me in any way.......
  23. This is a very deep/solid linup at Boone. Definitely put some power on display in this one (along with a couple of near misses). Kudos to coach Coffey.....first class.
  24. Q, Where is TJ Lykins on your list? I do agree that a solid teaching potential/position is a huge factor and necessity for the applicant for this opening.
