  1. Say what you will but the 32-29 regional winners are the only team to win a state title if I'm not mistaken......that being said, I'll go with Beal, Schloemer, Jennings, Johnson and I like Henderson..........then Hill, Pouncy (Pittman is better now than then)
  2. How did you all miss the obvious.....either she has a brother that is a Qb or she is a Kicker , why else would anyone transfer to Highlands! C'mon man.....
  3. I've gotta weigh in here.........first, I happen to like Coach Flynn (but not as enthused with the assts) but the state of affairs w/b-ball at HHS are dangerously close to reaching critical. This game serves as reflection of many of these ills. Namely, NCC's program begins with a dedication of a number of basketball players (first sport) that HHS doesn't enjoy, it also includes a year round work ethic that begins with a coaching staff that provides year round opportunities and support (a lotta love for "their" boys) and another factor is the true support of the entire school (let's not kid anyone, this means recognition for those participating in the program, resources, and faculty/parent/student body support). Lacking in these and a few other things creates an environment at HHS that is obviously not effective at this point in time. Coaching, support, opportunity are some of the reasons why kids like B.Weyer added the gold to his uniform. Unless something changes, HHS will continue to share football glory and pay to watch regional championships played..............
  4. As a kicker...probably, let's not get ahead of ourselves here
  5. All I can do is echo......loudly.....WOW ! I think we're done here........movin on
  6. I don't see any frosh playing up at HHS this season.......Cain & Kendall bring the most energy, would like to see Dougherty bring more of that....... the only one with size to move is Hergott but he still needs to work on his footwork/post play. Talented group, but not far enough to move up this season. Weyer was the most advanced....really like his game, NCC has a good one there.....
  7. I'll second that motion.......... a) How long does a blowout game take anyway....let 'em play b) You paid to watch a game....give 'em a full game c) This kids practice to play games.......play the whole game d) Really.....why !
  8. There are some great points noted here......I would add that most schools (not employing two-platoon) are unable to spend as much time working on fundementals/technique for playing each position and are typically only doing this in "out of season" & two-a-days. The two-platoon system inherently provides additional practice time to stress these items in practice every day.....ALL season long. Another benefit has to be the film study......being able to be more finite in your review (i.e. Def. players don't even review opponents Def. players/plays) gives more time to focus on your/one position. Also, ALL the players are present for film and practice time together (i.e LB isn't over with the O because he's also RB) I have also heard coaches comment that it is so much easier to create "real speed" practice scenarios because 1's are practicing against 1's all the time....... obviously, this system has many benefits.
  9. I will say Breathitt is most likely, followed by Fairview as my upset special........moving further, BG is the only undefeated State Champ in the end.
  10. I hope you're not implying that ANY Fox affiliate would deliver biased news.....!
  11. I believe the thread had to do with a specific game but since you're here......... last time I checked, Beechwood was on their way to a District championship w/out their freshman and the Frosh are undefeated. If a freshman is truly the answer for helping varsity, they will get their chance to help them win their way through the playoffs........until then I think Mr. Rash has the right priority by developing football players in his program.
  12. I'll tackle the white elephant in the room...... I have a little sympathy and a lot of respect for a kid placed in the situation of Mitch Trail. Through no fault of his own, he was literally traveled across the country to start over in HS going into his Senior yr....... I am sure the path traveled to date via NCC to HC has come with much anxiety and perhaps even regret for a 17 yr old kid (who is not the primary one responsible for making decisions about where he lands). Let's not forget that he is a kid, who I'm sure just wanted to play football, somewhere/somehow in his senior year in this foriegn land we call home. Bottom line, be happy he has found somewhere to be and play........from this angle he seems to be a pretty good football player and a pretty good kid. Good luck to his team and to yours going forward.......folks its still just kids playing HS football.
  13. Really, this big of game and I hear crickets...???? What is the contrast in their style of play, who could be the "difference -maker", what does WC have to do to pull an upset, what is my best option at the concession stand........give me something !:jump:
