  1. Yes if it is a loss of down type of penalty (intentional grounding etc.) If not I have no problem with moving them back 5, 10 or 15 yds depending on the penalty and repeat the down. Remember the defense can always decline the penalty if the offense is stopped.
  2. Their best ever QB graduated from Harvard 2 years ago.
  3. So SK returns a lot from a team that saw a quick exit again from the playoffs. So that means you think they should be higher on the list? I understand Ryle lost some key players but they still have the best RB in NKY coming back.
  4. When a penalty occurs inside the 10 yard line then it should be an automatic 1st down. I hate that when a team is about to score and inside the 5 yard line or so and the defense holds or their is a PI in the endzone that if it was 3rd down, it stays 3rd down. It is an advantage to the defense to do whatever they can on a 3rd and goal to prevent a TD even if that includes purposely getting called for a penalty. The offense doesn't really have an advantage. I witnessed this first hand this year during a Cooper game when Cooper was inside the 10 and it was a 3rd and goal and their was a Defensive Penalty and basically instead of getting a 1st and goal it was just a replay of 3rd down. That is one rule I wish was changed.
  5. Probably has a lot to do with good school academically as well as good program.
  6. Sean has knee injury (MRI to come still) Chris has wrist injury (broke?)
  7. How many state title games have they played in lately?
  8. If very good means early exit again in the post season then I agree with you.
  9. Agreed. Tanner Morgan = Transfer Dante Hendrix = not a transfer that is an example.
  10. I wish Beechwood had an opening. I think a BW HHS matchup sould be a fun game to watch.
  11. Proud of my Tigers for bringing home another state title. Congrats Beechwood!!!
  12. I have to agree with you and KY Outsider. If not for Ryle's O-Line they would not have had near the season they had. Tanner Morgan owes a ton of credit to his line that kept him very clean in the pocket and opened up some huge holes for Chisolm to run through. If not for the line, Ryle may have had a tough time winning 7 games this year. Their line was the teams MVP if you ask me.
  13. Wasn't a legal hand on the ball. They were lined up in the neutral zone or offsides every play. Horrible officiating
  14. Just proof that many officials should never be allowed to call another game. I've seen some horrible officiating this year in NKY. Many of these officials are a joke.
  15. I agree with your statement. I said last year that had HHS stayed at 4A there is no reason they couldn't have possibly reached the finals again. HHS had a great run over the years and won their fair share even when there were only 4 classes but the last few years with 6 classes, 4A wasn't all that competitive outside maybe 3 teams. i know RCC talks about HHS always playing the same competition they play now when they were 4A but that isn't entirely true. They played Ryle in like 2010 or 11 and lost but no other NKY teams I can remember outside their district. They always said everyone ducked them, but that was always the HHS fans claiming that. I never bought into it that much. It seems now that they are playing NKY teams outside their district it is showing that there is decent competition in NKY and I hope all these teams continue playing each other in the future.
  16. What big games did SK win? Cov Cath? Ryle? All those teams mentioned will be sitting home this Thanksgiving the same as Cooper. So no players on any of those teams should be on the list according to you right?
  17. Mike Vick was the best athlete when he played in the NFL but he by far wasn't ever the best qb.
  18. Not true at all. Actually half way through the season Morgan had more pass attempts and I pointed that out at the time and Lonaker still had more passing yards, higher compl % and more TD's with less Int's. There is no way if you gave Morgan as many pass attempts he'd lead the state. He is 20th in the state now with 1 more game than Lonaker played, no way he would be close to 1st. The only reason everyone talks about Morgan and disregards Lonaker is because Morgan had been known about for 3 years coming into this season and no one knew about Lonaker plain and simple. If Morgan had Lonaker's stats this year everyone would be touting him as the best ever. It's really a shame that so many people have their blinders on when it comes to what Lonaker has done this season.
  19. The problem is SK just like other NKY teams have as much of winning a state title in 6A as Scott has of winning a state title. No offense to either team but to think SK is anything other than what they have been is silly. SK just isn't the power that many of their fans think they are. This years run didn't surprise me at all. Over 50 years of playing with only 1 great run doesn't impress me. Sorry. Now if SK were a T or St X or Male then that would be different. SK simply isn't. SK is fairly new to winning and that winning doesn't go beyond NKY. So to answer your question. I'd rather play than not play and never win anything for either team.
  20. Trust me when I say this, NKY football this year and the success of teams had nothing to do with Highlands. This game had nothing to do with Highlands. Ryle or any other teams success had nothing to do with Highlands. Why you think any NKY teams success had anything remotely to do with Highlands is beyond me.
  21. I was going to say the same about Jared Lonaker. He not only led NKY in passing but also the state. I thought he at least deserved 2nd team honors. For those not familiar with his accomplishments in his only year starting as a varsity qb Jared threw for over 3000 yds in 11 games (over 500 more than Tanner Morgan who had more games 12). He also threw for 31 TD's (8 more than Tanner Morgan who again had more games to do so) and had only 6 INT's compared to 7 by Morgan. What hurt Lonaker this season was it was his first and only season as a starting qb and no one knew of him going into the season. If any other qb in the area had previous seasons as a starter they would be lauding his accomplishments and stating he was one of the best in the state but because he was unheard of people continue to dismiss one of the best seasons in NKY history. 2
  22. I will miss Racke. Really enjoyed watching him play the last 3 years.
