This Ryle game was against a team that is very talented. Ryle did what many of us expceted. It's not a knock against Highlands, but to blame coaches or even question the coaches I think is just futile. Sometimes, just like last season, it's the lack of talent plain and simple. Listening to how well the JV team and Freshman team is doing lets me believe Highlands will be back to their winning ways sooner rather than later. Ryle has some great players and they just picked up where they left off last year and many of these players were key components to Ryle's success last year, so this is no surprise. I may talk about Cooper a lot, but it's because that is what I have to compare with, because I am most familiar with Cooper. Coopers team last year was loaded, this year they are hurting with depth and next year will be without 2 very key players and will have games they will struggle with. It's the same thing that Highlands is going through these last 2 years I believe. It goes in cycles. Not coaching problem more than just lack of talent is all. That's my take on what happened Friday in the Ryle game, just lack of talent on one team compared to the other team.

Just replying to a post. Now to reply to your post, no, not any normal fan would always point to coaching. Some, actually many fans realize when a team just doesn't have the players. Now in the past Highlands had a bundle of very talented players and it's simply this year I believe they don't have that talent they have grown accustomed to. I think that has more to do with it than coaching. My understanding the coaches that are there now have been there for awhile even during the title years.

They have great skill players! I'm not saying they don't. I'm just saying when evaluating the two teams here is how I break it down. I give the nod to Cooper's skill players vs SK's and I give the nod to SK for line depth over Cooper That's all i was saying. I didn't mean it to sound like I was dissing SK's skill players at all. They have plenty of weapons to score at anytime with.

Again, would you like me to post where coaching came into question???????? That is something that came from your highlands fans, not me, but is something I predicted would happen.

So if you are now saying I didn't say Ryle ran the score up, then why didn't you just name everyone who posted in this thread in your post? I've gone back and read the entire thread. I can't find ONE known Highlands fan/dad that's complained about running up the score. Not one that gave excuses why we lost. It's funny how when a Highlands fan states a fact (we were without 3 OL) it instantly becomes and excuse. I saw many state their opinion on why we lost and the state of the program, but people like @Hellbird and @Fear the Nationand @plantmanky just want to come in takes potshots.

You haven't proved anything other than you haven't a clue. I'm still waiting for you to post the post about Ryle running the score up. Come on, what's wrong? You called me out now back it up with substance. I'm still waiting.

Big difference between you and RCC, I like RCC because of his passion and his passion is everything Highlands. He very rarely puts down other programs like you do. He just sticks up for his own. We may disagree a lot but I still respect him and his defense of his school. He doesn't call out others and lie about things they have said. Big difference. You could learn something from him. You still have not shown a post that either I made or even plant made saying Ryle ran the score up or it was designed. All my post about running the score up were simply about what happened in the past and what I my definition of it was and I also said I cold care less if teams do run the score up. So do us a favor and take some lessons from RCC, it may do you good.

Big difference, I don't talk trash about other programs like you have done. I actually talked about how impressed I have been with Highlands history. What I did do however is defend myself when you claim things I've said that I didn't say. I never once even mentioned Ryle ran the score up on you all, I was talking about what had happened in the past and you claim I said Ryle ran the score up on you Friday night. So try and get your facts straight before you toss others under the bus because you are butt hurt.

It's funny how many still had HHS ranked #1 pre season last year. Keep acting as if everyone knew Highlands would be this bad. Other teams don't keep track of who will be playing for each team especially when they aren't even in their districts. No one outside of Highlands had any idea they wold be that bad coming off another state championship. Even many of your own fans still touted them as making it to BG last year and that was even after the first 5 games. So don't act like all the coaches got together and said, hey lets play Highlands now because they stink. Get a clue. I'm just glad Highlands stopped ducking NKY teams.

But Cooper did play them during their streak. They were the first team to play highlands after their Championship in 2014. It wasn't like Cooper avoided Highlands like some have said (you weren't one of them btw) I was talking about when they entered 5A last season. Again I am impressed with Highlands history. I think it's awesome and to be very proud of. It's some of the fans that turn people off of the program and make it enjoyable to watch them act after a loss.

Yea, your great dominating team for decades got beat the first time they ever played a brand new public school that doesn't recruit in only their 8th year of existence. Yep, that sucks. Want to know something that really surpised me about Highlands last year when they came to Cooper in the first game of the season? How poor their fanbase is. I couldn't believe how few fans for such a great dynasty had. The visitor stands at that game were more than half empty. Actually it was the poorest showing of any Cooper home game all year by the visiting fans. So one thing I am very proud of when it comes to Cooper Football is our fans are real and they travelk great. In 2012 when they went to the state title game, every road playoff game (and every game Cooper was on the road) the Cooper fans outnumbered the home team fans in every game except the title game against BG. It was pretty impressivbe and what struck me odd about Highlands. Actually when Lexington teams came to play Cooper last year they had more fans in the stands than Highlands who is a local team and going to the first game of a state championship team. I still can't get over how poor of a following Highlands had.

I couldn't remember what years they were in 5A, only because I really didn't give a crap about HHS but only became interested when I joined BGP and heard the arrogance that was HHS fans about how everyone was afraid to play them etc. Now that they can't use that myth anymore they have been knocked back down to earth. Now with that said, I will say I am very impressed with their resume and their history. What I'm not impressed with is the arrogance some, and I repeat...SOME of their fans have always had on here.

I also said before last years season even started you all wouldn't beat Pulaski Co. yet many of your fellow fans were convinced they would win another State Title in 5A

It means exactly what any non mental midget would think it meant. Cooper had to do more with them losing than highlands did that game. The heat got to the players big time who were playing both ways. Anyone who had half a brain watching that game knew that is exactly what was happening as it happened. I know because you all never have beaten Cooper before in your entire history you didn't want to believe that the heat had anything to do with the outcome, but I hate to disappoint you but that is exactly what caused their downfall that game. They wouldn't have been up as much as they were up if it wasn't. You want some posts talking about the coaching...here you go Just a couple from the first few pages of this thread.

I think it's hilarious that people like NamecipS who for years on here touted how Highlands was the best thing since sliced bread and they always had to play teams from out of state because "Everyone was afraid to play them" so "They refused to schedule games" although the facts don't support that. When ever it was asked if Dale actually made any calls to all these NKY teams they had no proof to back up their claims. Not only did Highlands play in one of the easiest classes the last 9 years before deciding to move up to 5A, they used that horrible class as proof that they were great and everyone was afraid to play them. Then something magical happened. Following another State Title in the worst class in the state, Highlands moves up to 5A where they were sure they would dominate. What else happened? All these NKY teams they claimed were hiding from Highlands went ahead and scheduled them. How did that go? Well they started that first year in 5A by getting whipped by Cooper (who apparently according to some moved to 6A just so they could avoid playing HHS, that was another myth that a few HHS fans believed also, yet Cooper didn't hide from HHS and when they faced the defending state title winners what happened? Cooper dominated them, they beat them down to where people started to wonder if it was a fluke. It wasn't a fluke because what followed after that week was Highlands pretty much getting their butts handed to them by just about every 6A NKY team they faced. After touting for years how much NKY teams were afraid to play Highlands (with absolutely no proof to back up their claims) Those same NKY teams were beating the mighty BlueBirds, and beating them rather easily. So after years and years of hearing nothing but arrogance coming from some of the HHS fans, they get what's coming to them and they can't hide behind the lies that HHS can't find anyone in the state to play because everyone is afraid of them. Sometimes the truth hurts and when the giant falls, he falls hard. I was right NamecipS when I said it's entertaining watching some HHS fans do what they did last year and talk about who should be playing on the line and that their JV and Freshman players were better than the varsity players and how the coaches are the problem etc. So go ahead and get upset with those of us who have put up with your crap for years and finally proving that all the garbage about teams hiding from highlands have proven that theory not only wrong but proving Highlands isn't even the best team in the area much less the state or even as some try to convince others, among the top in the nation.

You want me to post those posts of your buddy's trashing the coaches? As far as the Cooper game, again show me where I ever said anything that you claim I said!!!! You just claimed I said "Highlands didn't win, Cooper gave it to them" Are you that ignorant? So we prove you wrong and you still continue. It's expected though. You are right, I did infer Cooper just couldn't get the job done. That's usually what happens when a team loses. Maybe people should start reporting rules violations too such as calling out other members in open forum etc. Go cry in your cake.

But wait a minute!!! All of Highlands players live in their district right? How could that be that they would accept players out of district??
