  1. I don't know enough about Lex Cath this year to even come up with a prediction.
  2. Yea, but you also seen FSU play and thought they were #1 in the country etc. You also every year think SK is the best team in the state, so pardon us if we don't put any weight into what you think.
  3. Boone County's bad stretch may last a long long long LOOOOOOONNNNNNGGGGG Time.
  4. I brought that up last year as well. Can't use weather as an excuse either. Last year the first game of the season it was perfect football weather and I have never seen the visitor stands at Cooper so empty. This was also their first game since winning their last state title too. Not a very good traveling fan base.
  5. Always makes sense to put all the athletics under 1 school...a school that doesn't even have athletic facilities for the sports. Smh
  6. I think it has a lot more to do with arrogance on SC's part and it backfired lol. I love this story!
  7. She sounds like a real peach. Are we sure her last name isn't Clinton?
  8. I don't know but I'm sure there were daddy's arguing about their kid should be playing a different position or the coach is wrong etc. that just like winning titles has been a HHS tradition also lol. j/k
  9. What a crock. You do know that "All these schools" scheduled HHS immediatly following another HHS state title don't you? You all continue with your excuse that everyone avoided highlands with zero proof but you're own arrogance.
  10. HHS North Dakota State moment this year was week 1
  11. I wouldn't count on it. This may be the worst homecoming game Highlands ever had.
  12. Camps is the only way to go if you want to play at the next level. College coaches don't go watch players on Fri Nights unless they already have interest and that is from camps etc. I don't know if he has gone to any or not.
  13. You have a very similar story to mine. My boy played QB all thru 8th grade and his final year was the leading qb in BCPWFL Where he led the senior division with 16 TD's and only 2 int's. Next closest in the league had 9 TD's. So he goes to High School and was going to be behind a 3 yr starter on varsity but due to his size (6' 3") and his speed the coach moved him to WR where he never played before. As a dad I was a little bummed but he was starting as a sophomore instead of having to wait until his senior yr to play qb. It was a move that paid off great as he became a pretty good WR as he was the state leader in receptions his senior year through 9 games of the regular season (this was N Fants senior season also). My son is now playing in college (junior this year) and has started since his very first game as a College Freshman and on his very first reception as a college player turned it into a TD. He has played in every game so far except for 1 he was injured last year and will miss only his 2nd game next week (got injured tonight) So I would hope this kids dad would stop pressuring his kid and the coach and just let the kid play wherever he is needed. Before he knows it, his football days will be over and he will be left wondering why he just didn't shut his mouth and play where the coach needed him to play. If not for my sons coach moving him to a position he never played before instead of qb, my sons playing days may have been over already. Sometimes coaches may know a little more than dad's know about where there boys can play...just sayin.
  14. When you can run it is a definite advantage. SK is running at will. Whoever thinks it's an advantage for Cooper has no clue. Sloppy fields aren't a real advantage to anyone unless you have a good running game that has a line to open holes straight ahead and that is where SK did their damage, right up the middle untouched.
  15. Please educate us all on how in the heck is a sloppy field home field advantage? You wanna keep crying, I'm sure Cooper would be more than happy for you to pay for field turf. If not stop your whining.
  16. Harris will be by the end of the season I believe and if he stays healthy he may be the 2nd best RB from KY to play for the Crimson Tide.
  17. Cooper will have Chik-fil-a sandwiches at their games sometimes. Eat Mor Chiken!
  18. As I will be rooting for the Raiders as well. We are very fortunate to have 2 really fun teams to watch in Union!
  19. To tell you the truth, I have no idea. I haven't been to any of the JV games so I don't know who has been playing QB for JV. I also wouldn't be surprised if a sophomore next year steps up to become the starting QB. This year I had a good idea it would be Lonaker as he battled N Brown for the spot in training before last year. Although going into this year it was wide open from what I hear. I heard it could have been Schlarman, Lonaker or even Dante Hendrix, and I was very happy it wasn't Dante because that would be handcuffing such a great receiver threat for the team. Next year, your guess is as good as mine. Schlarman is such a good athlete, he can basically play anywhere. Last year he played a lot of RB and FB. He can also play WR or TE. He is a pretty good all around defense man too so if you play him at QB, although Borchers has a lot of 2 way players, QB is one he doesn't like playing both ways since he had Morris play both ways back in 2011 and 2012. I'm just waiting for the streak of very good QB's to come to an end, nothing that good can last forever. I'm also hoping it doesn't end in my lifetime lol. Kind of fun to watch how he handles and molds the QB's. Funny thing is last year pre season I watched Lonaker play when he was competing with Nathan Brown and Lonaker always had accuracy but had a lot of other things he was deficient in and him losing the spot to Brown was no surprise for me. This year the change has been ... Wow! Just goes to show what a little tutelage under Borchers can do for a QB. You don't get the attention needed when you are battling for the position, but once you win it and coach can spend the time needed with you, the improvement is eye opening. Last year was the exact same with Nathan Brown. He was given so many opportunities from his sophomore season on but just couldn't get it. then once he won the spot and Borchers worked with him he became 100 times better than I ever thought he'd be. It's really amazing to watch.
  20. Great point, especially seeing how Cooper has won by large margins in the games they have won also and apparently have put on the brakes sooner than Ryle has in their games seeing how Lonaker has less pass attempts than Morgan. Thanks for bringing that up.
  21. As far as the post you replied to, see my next post to explain that actually supports my point about Lonaker more than Morgan. So thanks for that also. I just like you love watching what the union schools will turn out at QB. It's always a complete mystery how the Cooper QB's will be. as you pointed out, we never know who will be the QB. Started in 2013 when Will Ludwig started as a Senior and broke all passing records that year for Cooper, the following year Billy Pricket takes over as a senior and what does he do? Just lights it up and takes the team all the way tot he State Semi's as he throws for over 1000 yards with 15 TD's. The following year (last year) Nathan Brown steps in as a senior and becomes the first time starting QB and he ends up throwing for even more yards than Prickett the year before. Now this year, what Jarod Lonaker is doing is nothing short of amazing and I can garuntee no one outside of Jarod himself ever expected the season he is having. Jarod right now after only 4 games already has more passing yards than Prickett and is on pace to shatter Ludwigs 2225 yds passing. It is simply amazing what Coach Borchers has been able to do at the QB position every year. Next year will be the 5th year in a row he has had a first time starting QB.
  22. Personally I don't care who offered. Lonaker may have been offered by 15 DI programs for all we know. Either way neither has any leverage in what we are talking about. Lonaker so far this season has the better numbers is all. Doesn't mean Tanner won't finish the season as the best qb that ever played in KY high school football history.
  23. He just feels left out because no one has mentioned SK lol
