Best Coach in NKY?
He was. And then joined the navy because he wanted to use the gi bill to finish school, he is enrolled now at NKU. Talked to him the other day, he is really enjoying Scott. Crazy thing is sam was 19 when he started at Holmes with the freshman team and doing most of there scouting for them.

1/28: Covcath at Scott Predictions
The guards from Scott will give CovCath site. They really locked up PCC's PG who has D1 offers and gave Holmes PG fits. On a side note, watched a lot if H.S. bball and Holmes PG is best PG I have seen in last 2 years.

What is the archaic rule of unable to dunk after refs show up?
Basketball he's become the most popular sport in regards to entertaining young people. For example, when you turn on ESPN either tv, internet, or mobile; you see "Dunk of the Night", not 15 footer of the night, best bounce pass, nor best free throw. I would be the first that say this era of bball is very UN-fundamental. Kids shoot the 3 & dunk the ball. However, the masses love to see a 5'10 fly through the air and snap the RIM or a 6'3 kid throw the ball up in the air and go "Spudd Webb on the RIM.

Holmes 60 Scott 59
I appreciate good officials. But 2 of the 3 guys are not ranked in the Top 30 in the BBA. 1 of the 3 left the 9th Region because he could not get any games.

Holmes 60 Scott 59
It is obvious you would rather instigate an argument than see the message. I believe that Scott had very little chance to win the first game. It took Holmes to quit playing, like they did against Holy Cross, and a great performance by the Eagles to even make that game close. However, Holmes won the first quarter and the last 30 seconds. Scott DOMINATED the rest of the game. As bad as Bolden played, by being the great player he is, it did free up others to get theirs. This was a horribly officiated game on both sides. The "T" was not on Booher but an assistant coach who has a "potty" mouth and the goal tending call was so obvious but these bad officials were out of position. Then to call a reach with 3.2 seconds after Englemon climbed Jackson's back was terrible. It should of been a no call and let the players determine the outcome and not some zebra who is a never-was as a ref!! Best of Luck to the Bulldogs and the Eagles. They could meet for a 3rd time at Rupp. Scott has the tougher road but if Holmes doesn't learn to play for 4 quarters they will be in the same boat as the Holmes team that got crushed my Newport in Regional Final because they didn't play 4 quarters either.

Holmes @ Scott predictions
Scott plays team defense and switches most everything. Never seen a Brad Carr coached team come out and just say " you got him". Should be a fun night in Taylor Mill though.

Nicest Jerseys in the state
Scott ha identical unis as UK. Simon Kenton has nice unis as well.

NKY's Crazy-Sick Sophomore Class
Nic Jackson outperformed Englemon. His team just beat Dixie and he defended Hatton on several key possessions in the 4th quarter on Friday and shut him down and blocked his shot 2 times. I was in front row for both Dixie and Holmes games. However, my analysis is that he is Top 5 in NKY. Hatton, Campbell, Bolden, Jackson, & Ruthzatz.

NKY's Crazy-Sick Sophomore Class
Nic Jackson is a Top 3 player in NKY and he lit Holmes/Englemon up and I would not leave off Saunders from Brossart.

Boone County 49 Campbell County 35
Camels played with no urgency or heart, with Holbrook out and McGovney at about 75%. They failed to compete tonight. Congrats to the Rebels for grinding one out.

Holmes 2013
One name that would be interesting is Dave Simpson. Phenomenal coach and relates well with kids. His effect at Scott has led to kids leaving Covington and playing in Taylor Mill.

Holmes 2013
Rumor and just a rumor, was the handling of the Peterson kid. Several times he "babied this kid and his grades so he could play. Now the kid is not even in school. Also, over heard a very, very respected official said that his team was very dirty and disrespectful. Once again, rumors that I over-heard. I have no dog in this fight and wish Holmes the best of luck in finding a coach.

Bishop Brossart 73 Campbell County 56
I was in the front row. He deserved a "T" on the ball throwing incident. His second "T" was out of frustration that the Guards from Brossart were being physical with him and they were getting their "Humps" blown off. i spoke with one official and he said that the ball throwing was overlooked because off the intensity of the game and that he felt he was not showing anyone "up". In regards to the game, might have been a different outcome in McGovney is 100%. If he does not get back to at least 90% then they will be the 3rd seed in the district and be eliminated in the 2/3 game. However, great atmosphere and both team play so bad that it hurts. Good luck to both teams!

Holmes 74 Scott 69
it was bad both ways. Walter take off your blinders!! Bolden threw the first elbow and #2 responded. Any elbow swing to the head is automatic ejection. Like I said, Walter, officials fault for not controlling game. Both teams were playing with heart and passion. I never blamed the kids. Officials control that.

Holmes 74 Scott 69
The officials lost control of this game. #3 from Holmes, on 3 different plays in the fourth quarter intentionally threw 3 elbows and the head of #2 from Scott who was trying to attempt to deny him on every possession. A good crew would have ejected him and he would not be making the trip to Florida. I don't blame the players because if the "stripes" would of taken control of the game then it would of never got to that point. He has amazing potential and this team does as well. However, the difference between this Holmes team and the 2009 State Champion is leadership from the players and composure.
