Now be careful!! They are rolling and I'd love to see them make a run, but many said they would roll through the region last year and they didn't. I know it's a different year and they are very good! But if they do expect to make that run, they should dominate their district and region because it's just not that strong this year. If they stumble anywhere in district or region, t could indicate vulnerability. If they stay focused and keep that common goal in sight, they will finish very strong. But things get a little tighter and teams throw a bunch of different things at you in post season. Hopefully they are prepared for it all.

Did they award a technical foul? If so, my only question would be if it wasn't intentional or flagrant, why the tech? And who was the player that committed it?

Would be nice to see them make a run.

Well it sounds like he'd meet qualifications! Lol!

No idea who the other coaches are, but from what I know, it would have been easier just to use an internal coach in the program. So that tells me they had a specific reason not to pick an existing coach. Was it the varsity and varsity assistant that were let go? If so, that means the next in line would be the JV. No idea who that is, but are they competent to run the varsity? Do they have the qualifications to be a head coach in that district? And I don't mean "are they a good coach". Some districts have specific qualifications before you're even eligible to be a head coach. (Outside of bball). I have No idea, just asking. Secondly, any ties to the coaches involved? Did the school want someone completely out of the situation to step in to finish the year? Several people always question administration when things like this happen. First and foremost, they didn't cause this. So look at the root cause if you want to blame for anything. Second, the school puts education and the kids first in every decision they make. Sports are an extra curricular activity. So when they are making the decision on what to do, it's not going to be about how successful the team can be. It's going to be to fix the issues and calm the waters. In this case, I'm sure these highly educated people had their reason for doing what they did. I'm sure it was well thought out and aligned with the district rules, goals, priorities and strategies. Schools are under a microscope and will do what they feel is best for all involved. But they do have priorities and as I'm sure it's fun to win bball games...winning bball games is not their top priority in these situations. Again, remember why the poor kids are in this situation.

Was not there either. But I do agree. Seems like it would be tough to watch a game with 77 fouls! But maybe just one of those unique games. However, the people that were there aren't blaming the refs. I get the feeling they seem to think there were a lot of fouls committed! No one that was at the game has really said anything about the offiating. So I take it that if was just a rough, physical and crazy game. Just because there is something unique in a game, doesn't mean the officials caused it. I agree that is a TON of fouls, but just haven't heard anyone that was there say that's because of the officials. It might be, but some people always default to "it's the official's fault!" (Not saying that's you OB) and that really gets tiresome. Like officials have a personal vandetta against their team and their team only! Lol!

I coach and if at any time I were to get in a fist fight with my assistant in front of my team, I would expect nothing less than to be terminated immediately. You can try to make all the justifications you want and blame the district for being too stern, but I don't think there is a district in the state that wouldn't take the same action. And if they didn't, I would question that district immensely! Plain and simple, I don't care who you are or how long coached or what your history is...if this happens, you're gone...period. And yes, I know the whole story.
