  1. Kid can flat out burn.. Nobody on the field can catch him. Impressive
  2. Roman- you can keep that list in your pocket, I doubt the cougars will be needing it anytime soon.
  3. What are you talking about? My posts are not in the least bit class-less. I proofread my posts to check facts, so that I don't sound ignorant, and I also check for proper grammar and punctuation. Is the 14 year old program you are talking about Holy Cross? I haven't said anything negative about them. They are a good 2A team, they won state, and that cant be denied. But they cannot hang with the big schools, there is nothing wrong with making a factual statement. And to comment on your "we have a ring, what about you guys" statement.. Conner has just as many state champion banners hanging up as Holy Cross has.. ONE. By the way.. Welcome to BGP
  4. I have never said scrimmages count.. Actually, I think they are somewhat useless considering most of the time they are complete blow outs, and teams scrimmage other teams that have no business being on the same field as them (SK V.S. St. X) for example. I am starting to comment on your posts, simply to see what more hilarious and outlandish statements I can get out of you.. So to answer your question, yes you did help me out, I got a good laugh while sitting at my desk on this long wednesday afternoon. Thank You!
  5. Almost the exact point I tried to make earlier. It's impossible to accurately rank a team based on "what if's" and "if we played them" thinking and you are correct.. The best part is that Conner and Cooper get to play each other in a few weeks, and possibly again in the playoffs.. So we can all debate then.
  6. UKFan- You have zero room to claim that anyone thinks they have the best team in the world.. Just three weeks or so ago, you claimed that your favorite team was going to hang with Louisville St. X.. You're in a dream world. At least the fans out in Hebron are realistic.
  7. After watching the video of the Cooper/HC game that Clyde posted in the other thread, I think that HC is going to have a VERY hard time stopping Conner. The Cooper running back #31, Collins, is a good player, and he gashed them for 4 TD's in the first half, however I don't think he is nearly as dangerous with the ball in his hands as those who will be carrying it for conner (#22, #7, #30, #29). My prediction for the game Conner wins 42-14
  8. Rankings in high school are very similar to the way the BCS ranks college football teams. It's a perverbial group of guys sitting in a room picking who they "think" is best. There is no real way to accurately rank teams on any level, with the exception of the NFL, because each team pretty much plays every team. In high school, especially, there is no true way to rank teams. Im not speaking specifically in 5A, or any district for that matter, but overall. For example: Some of the teams that were featured on ESPN over the weekend had very high national rankings, and to me, they were unimpressive. I would take Trinity, Moeller, Cincy St. X, Highlands, and possibly some others in the area over the majority of the teams that played on TV over the weekend. Im going to also go ahead and state that the ranking of players is also ridiculious. There is no real way to rank a player in their specific position (#1 high school QB) for example, because who ranks them? Do the people who rank them see EVERY kid who plays QB in high school? No, they don't. People get way too caught up in rankings, because like hja stated above, they mean nothing. When and if a team plays another team, then we can decide who is "better" or better on that night, and decide who should be ranked higher. But ranking teams across the board is nearly impossible, because not every team in NKY plays each other. It simply doesn't work, it's a flawed system. The only way to get an accurate ranking would be if every team played eachother, and that's just not possible, not enough weeks in the season. So for now, we'll just have the "what if's" and "if team A played team B" chatter that's going on. It's the same every year, and always will be.
  9. Yet another thread that this guy has to jump into and talk about how badly SK would beat someone IF they played this year.. This is a thread about KY quarterbacks, and their stats. Not how bad Simon Kenton would beat Conner IF they play
  10. I have zero rooting interest in either team, I was simply weighing in on the topic of the score being run up.
  11. I played the game, pee wee through college.. I am aware that a game and practice are different. But as far as pass blocking, a coach can run several drills for offensive and defensive lineman during individuals or 1 on 1 time, that are "game speed" drills that will imulate a game 100%. The excuse for passing in the 4th quarter of a complete blowout is that your lineman need to practice pass blocking, is ridiculious..
  12. Lionscoach stated earlier in the thread that when the score was 32-0 in the 4th quarter there were passies being thrown and the offense was hurrying to the line, to run another play? What is the point in that, other than to pad the score books. And by saying "run your offense, and if like Cov Cath it is pass then run, you throw the ball" What is wrong with simply running the ball, is that not a part of the Covington Catholic play book? By not throwing passes, and running the ball to show sportsmanship is not insulting. The defense would still have to stop the run, that is not laying down. If Cov Cath would have knelt the ball, or punted on first down, that would be insulting.
  13. This is what practice is for. I'm not for certain, but im going to go out on a limb, and say that the kid playing offensive tackle probably knows how to pass block, not much need for "practicing" that at the JV level, during a game that is a complete one sided blow out. Pass blocking is pretty much taught across the board at the pee wee level. Again, I am not saying that Cov Cath should have punted on first down, or taken a knee three times and punted to run the clock out, but there is no reason to continue to throw when your up that much. I would not have a problem with the continued scoring, if they were running simple dives up the middle, and the Dixie kids just couldnt tackle them. A kid running the ball should not be asked to lay down and not score if he has a wide open field. Again, there is no excuse for taking shots at the endzone when you're up 40 in the 4th quarter.
  14. I read this and laughed out loud.. You was good at grammar wern't ya?
  15. I am a believer that if you don't want the opposite team to embarass you by scoring to much, then get better and stop them. I also believe that if you are winning by 40+ points, in the 4th quarter, then, regardless if you are a "pass first, run second" team or not, you should not be taking shots down field for the endzone. That is bush league, and it's an example of a coach taking sportsmanship completely out of the win. Win or loose, show some class.
  16. I think if Conner played a game against one of the pee wee teams, you would pick them to loose. This game will have a very similar outcome to the Cooper/HC game last week. Conner is simply too deep, and too athletic for HC to hang with them. Sure HC has a few very talented players, but one or two good players will not help them beat a very powerful 5A football team.
  17. I don't see Beechwood having much of a problem, if any this week against Holmes.
  18. That was probably an accident.. or someone has been drinking
  19. Is this game Thursday of Friday? My contact on the Colerain coaching staff says Thursday, the schedule on Ryle's 'Max Preps' page has it for Friday the 31st.
  20. They may score when the JV is on the field. I say Colerain's 1's pitch a shutout in this one
  21. There isn't a doubt UKFan, Colerain could score 100 if they really wanted to. This game is going to get ugly, and fast.
