  1. That fumble was a botched hand off on an option play in the backfield.. there are two people holding onto the ball at once during option plays. Fogle isn't a quarterback, mistakes happen. You claimed to be watching the game, what happened when Fogle got the corner? He dusted everyone on the field.. Conner fans live on fantasy island? Aren't you the mayor? From reading your numerous, highly intelligent posts, I'd say you are a contender for re-election.
  2. After a long physical camp, Conner rested six starters. Including Barker. And from the looks of it, 3 touchdowns to 1, those starters didn't have to play. I'd venture to say, that if those boys played, it would have been a lot worse. Nobody on beechwoods defense could catch Fogle out of the backfield, I can't imagine how it would have been with him at receiver, and Barker throwing it to him. I'd venture to say their corners wouldn't have been able to cover him, or the other two starting receivers that sat out, But That's just a Guess.
  3. Eagle- Lineman are very rarely recognized individually.. But I think it's safe to say that many of the skill players wouldn't be on the list unless they had a solid line creating holes for them on the field. If I was a lineman, I would consider the fact that my running back/QB is on the list recognition enough.. By the time they reach the high school level, a kid who plays lineman should be used to the fact that their name won't be "up in lights" much.
  4. Summer camps are over. Ball State was last visit at the end of July and impressed with a sub 4.45. Currently focused on Conner season and trying to schedule college visits during the next few months, attending games and campus. Narrowed selection down to a few schools. Each school is looking to use him on different sides of the ball. Schools of interest are UC, UK, Ohio, Ball St, WKU, EKU, Kent and Wooford. Time will tell.
  5. UK#1Fan is hilarious. I haven't read a single positive, or non sarcastic comment about Conner football program or it's players from this guy. The majority of the posts are incredibly unintelligent.. can a moderator please make a Simon Kenton only forum, so this guy can just hang out in there and post until his little heart's content and stop gumming up every other forum with nonsense.
  6. Yes he worked out for Cincinnati yesterday, and again impressed... word has it there are at least two schools that are close to offering. It is my feeling that once he gets his first, there will be more to follow. Since Sunday, the day he ran the top 40 time at UK, I have read 4 articles on various Kentucky athletic websites that feature interviews with Fogle. I think his biggest camp day will be at Ohio State due to the fact there will be over 60 colleges there, including all the MAC schools. I feel like he would be an excellent fit at a MAC school. And from various conversations I have had, Ohio U is coming after him pretty hard.
  7. So that is 2 Big Ten schools that have offered? Impressive. Can't wait to get out to watch Conner this year.. With the talent they have, I expect to see a show, to say the least.
  8. Clyde, I agree with you there. I would say that the majority of DB's at the D-1 level are around 6" tall. It is my assumption that he is being looked at to play safety at the larger schools like UK, UC etc.. The smaller schools like WKU, Ohio, EKU etc are looking at him to carry the ball. Either way you look at it, a player who is 5'11" and close to 200# with that kind of speed and ability, a school will find a place for him. Without knowing him personally, I cannot speak for certain, but Im sure that the more people say he's too small, wouldnt play at a D-1 school, or anything of the sorts, only fuels his fire, I know it would motivate me beyond measure. It seems to me from reading the numerous interviews that he did from this past weekend at UK that they believe he can play DB, and if the coaching staff is pulling him aside to do 1 on 1 drills with him, during a showcase, that holds a lot of weight in my book. Only time will tell where he will play, but I like his attitude. Again from reading the articles, seems to me that his focus is not on himself, but rather on his team and their upcoming season. When all the chips fall, he will be playing at the next level. And if he chooses to go to a larger school, true that he may not start right away as a true freshman, but I'm sure the special teams coach wouldn't mind a 4.4 speed guy returning kicks for a year or until he can earn a spot on the field full time.
  9. Summer sports are made to play in the heat. If proper hydration and nutrition routines are followed, as well as frequent breaks from strenious activity, then there should be no problem. I remember playing several games, both football and baseball, in which the heat index was well over 100, but that was before all of the heat related deaths in recent years. When the 9th region baseball tournament game, Highlands/Conner was postponed this year due to heat, all the players and most of the coaches, along with the athletic directors wanted to play the game. By the time they made the decision to postpone the Highlands/Conner game, they could have gotten the darn thing in. In my opinion its silly.
  10. I would say the heat rule is not as important for baseball as it is for football. In a baseball game, there is a chance to constantly hydrate, sit in the shade of the dugout, and the catchers can remove their gear in between innings. While in a football game, the players are pretty much stuck in the heat, and cant remove their gear, with the exception of the helmet. I think the rule says that if it's over 100* that a water break is required every 30 minutes. Well, in a baseball game, this is done in any weather due to the changing of the innings. I would like to see the KHSAA amend it's rule for certain sports, but I don't see that happening any time soon.
  11. Posted this article in a different thread.. but I'll share it here as well. http://www.bleedbluekentucky.com/2012/06/10/sunday-showcase-performance-puts-fogle-on-uk-radar/
  12. I just stumbled across this article a few minutes ago. Sounds like Conner's Fogle put on quite a show. http://www.bleedbluekentucky.com/2012/06/10/sunday-showcase-performance-puts-fogle-on-uk-radar/
  13. I agree Clyde.. this guy is completely ruining this thread, he's like a gnat at a barbeque, just annoying all of us.. Either contribute in a positive or constructive manner or get out.. UKfan, You've done nothing but be negative, and It's getting old. We get it, you just like to stir the pot, you don't know much, if anything, about football, and you really like Simon Kenton. Anything else you have, add it to a different thread.
  14. Agree Clyde.. this thread is supposed to be about the 2012 cougars and our little buddy UKfan keeps throwing it off course with his nonsense..
  15. You are probably right.. they would lock him up, if they both guarded him at the same time, but I'm sure he wouldn't mind, because Barker would systematically shred SKs D to pieces while he was being double teamed. Because there are more weapons on that Conner offense than Fogle.
  16. UKfan That was Last year big guy, and you brought up the Simon Kenton games from several years back.. this thread is about the 2012 cougars.
  17. Does anyone else feel like UKfan lives in a different universe than the rest of us? I'll go back to my previous statement, you sound like a person who has never watched a game, and your football knowledge is lacking.. I believe Conner beat Holy Cross by 20 last year. That is not a close game, in any dimension, the point differential will probably be the same or greater this year.. and as for your beloved pioneers, you should be thanking the football gods they don't play Conner this year because I fear your heart may get broken. My invitation from earlier stands. Feel free to come out to any Conner game this year and see for yourself.. make sure you bring your glasses, so you have a clear look at what a good football team looks like.
  18. Queen- I was just thinking the very same thing. UKFan- I would like to personally invite you to attend any one of Conner's games this year, bring a print out of all of you're ridiculious postings on here, so that you can salt and pepper them up, and eat your words.. None of your points are valid, and you sound like someone who's never watched a game, or even know's whats going on. Conner is loaded with talent on both sides of the ball, as well as special teams. There will be a lot of people's eyes opened up this fall.
  19. UKfan- "Conner has no one who can cover Beal or Pouncy" Have you ever watched a Conner football game? Your football intelligence amazes me. Fogle and Mckeean play corner, and both can outrun most players in the area. I would even go as far as to say Fogle is a "shut down" corner. Whoever he covers will have a tough day at the office.
  20. Always a shame when a kid gets hurt and his season ends.. Is he going to be playing at the next level? Or is he completely done. Best of luck to the young man
  21. Conner has a chance to do something that hasn't been done in Hebron since '83, and that is bring a state title home. They are loaded with talent, and the leadership from the upperclassmen is outstanding. I drive past the school frequently, as I live in the area, and there are always guys out on the practice field, working. These are times when there are no coaches present, and the players have taken it upon themselves to put in the extra work. Running routes, running sprints and bleachers at 6 A.M. etc.. I have a few friends who's kids play on this team, and let me tell you, the sting from the 31-30 loss to Anderson County is still very present. They have a goal, and from what I can see, are working extremely hard to reach it. They are returning many starters from a team last year, that from what I saw, had the talent to be playing for the title, but they just fell a bit short. I don't see them allowing that to happen again this year. Fogle, Barker, and crew have the talent and ability to make this dream a reality, and it all begins on 8/24 at 7:00 P.M. Should be an exciting fall under the lights in Hebron.
  22. "I can't help but ask, but are you serious about this? Do you think he's a draftable player?" Cooperstown- To answer this question, simply put... NO
  23. Ryle hit the ball hard, to every part of the field the entire game. They pulled off several sacrifice bunt plays to perfection, and on most of them the Conner infield looked dazed and confused. Tough loss for Conner, but they have the talent to rebound and have a strong showing in the regionals. Big momentum boost for Ryle going into the tournament. Good luck to both teams next week.
  24. TRP12- what about queen's comment was negative? All the post said was the previous comment, a very sarcastic one I might add, that was made by another poster, was funny. While Nelson was a decent high school pitcher,he in no way jeopardized his draft stock by choosing to leave the team. I feel like queen's posts are intelligent, and honest. At times honesty can hurt some feelings. Especially the feelings of "Little Timmy's" parents who think he's better than he really is. Secondly I don't think you or anyone else is in a place to tell someone how they should feel about their child's accomplishments. Or make assumptions on how they feel about other kids. If your feelings are easily hurt by reading these threads, maybe you should find a different hobby??
  25. Weight room early before school and acceleration training after baseball is really paying off. His speed should be better than last season? It will be fun to watch Conner this fall. Should score a bunch of TD's with all of the options they will have. Other schools that have made multiple trips to Conner to visit with Cameron is EKU, WKU, Wooford, Army, UK, UC, Miami (OH) and some of the baseball players told me that Louisville was at school earlier this week to watch Drew throw made a point to get Cameron to run routes. Rumor has it now they have some interest, most schools are looking at him for a defensive safety or DB position. Big summer for the senior showcase months of June/July.
