  1. There is supposed to be a substitute official at every game, in case something like this happens, they will have a full crew.
  2. I was told the same thing by a Cooper parent.
  3. I know what I saw.. It was bad. And being "short handed" is no excuse for being lazy, and not knowing the rules.
  4. White Hat went down on maybe the third series of the game. Very early in the first quarter.
  5. It had very little negative impact on CC, in fact it probably played to their benefit. There were many, many times that a flag should have been thrown on CC, and the officials kept the flag in their pocket. I'll give examples: I would say that 90% of the tackles that CC made, the defender came in with his helmet, head down, flagrant "leading with the head" penalties. There were several times that Conner ball carriers were tackled 3 yards out of bounds, no flags. At one point, Barker was shoved so far out of bounds, he almost took out the cheerleaders on the track. On a couple of occasions, Barker had released the ball, and was still getting rocked after the pass was long gone, he was being picked up and driven into the ground. All of these should have been called. If you were at the game, you know what we are talking about, Queen of Pink said it earlier, they were very lazy and very bad.
  6. Well, if they get that far, it will be a moral victory. The 6A title trophy already has Trinity engraved on it. SK doesn't have a snowballs chance against Trinity. If, and I do mean if, SK is to make it to the title game, they will get beat... BAD
  7. Maxpreps probably is not the best source for judging how good a team is. I wouldn't read too much into these rankings. Many times that website doesn't even have the correct schedule information.
  8. I think it was a combination of laziness, and them being very bad. I noticed the officials seemed to miss tons of calls, make several mistakes regarding spotting of the ball, etc.. Also the white hat went down with injury, and they didn't replace him. They went with no back judge, strange to me. That pass interference that was called near the goal line may have been one of the few they got RIGHT all evening. Clyde, I was asking myself during the game why the other pass interference wasn't an automatic 1st down, because I was sure that it was supposed to be.
  9. What about the catch he made on the sidelines with less than 15 seconds on the clock to give the cougars the ball on the 1 yard line? I think that one was better than the 4th down catch. He had defenders draped all over him, still managed to make the grab, AND get a foot in bounds. Wow. Also, I know the play was called back so it didn't count, but it still happened.. How about the second td he had called back for Penalty? Barker scrambled, found Fogle in the flat, and he made two defenders fall down, and left another in the dust.. He is very impressive player to say the least. The Cougar D really tightened it up in the second half, and showed their heart. #74, I'm not even going to attempt to spell his name, so I'll call him Monster, played unreal on the defensive line. This is the first time I have seen him on that side of the ball, but he definitely belongs there. Kid was all over and couldn't be blocked. It's not official, but I'll guess he had somewhere in the range of 9 tackles and 3 or 4 sacks. The Cougar tight end, Padgett, made some great catches in traffic tonight as well. He got lit up a few times, and still kept coming. Showed a lot of toughness. Great comeback, and team win for Conner, great way to respond to a loss, and get momentum moving in their direction for 5a play. Players, parents, coaches, and fans should be proud of those young men tonight.
  10. It doesn't matter how many they give up, as long as they score more than the other team.
  11. The score of Boone vs Conner was 31-19. I don't see CC scoring that much. They may hold the ball and control the clock with the run game, but Conners offense can score quickly. I'll stick with my prediction of the cougars by 14 or more.
  12. 200 Yards rushing may be overstating it a bit. If the Cougars don't come to tackle, he may have a big game, but I don't see him running for 200, that is a big game for a running back, much less a QB. I don't think CC has enough speed to match up with Conner's offense. Could be a shootout, or it could be a blow out. I have a feeling the loss to Dixie last week was a wake up call for the Cougars, and they come to play this week. I'm picking Conner, by 14 or more.
  13. He has been on multiple visits, none for baseball. As far as I know he doesn't have much, if any interest in playing baseball at the next level. I know for a fact that there have been 20+ schools contact and come to visit him at Conner in regards to football. He has been on several campus visits, that I know of for sure so far this season. There are multiple articles, and interviews that he has done with scout.com, rivals.com etc.
  14. You are correct, as far as I know, that Fogle doesn't play summer ball (due to his dedication to football). I believe that his exposure came from the showcase event prior to the All-State game over the summer, where he showed amazing speed in the 60, and his arm strength from the outfield. I'm not aware of the specific MLB clubs, I just know what I've been told by those who are close to him, and Conner athletics. I am not sure about Maines and Padgett either, I can ask around and see what I can find out..
  15. I think Conner will use the loss to Dixie as fuel for their fire. I just hope their D Line accepts the challenge and steps up this week. That, in my opinion, has been their biggest weak spot thus far this year. And from what I have heard, the CC quarterback is a tough runner, and tough to bring down.
  16. The Cougars re-focus their energy this week, and get back on track against Campbell Co. Everything needs to tighten up before 5A play begins the following week. Conner by 14 pts.
  17. Conner 21-0 11:45 to go in the 2nd quarter
  18. Conner 14 Dixie 0 3:00 to go in the 1st
  19. I will be at this game, I will try to post updates as they happen.
  20. Vinnie Pangallo was carried off the field, and has how left the stadium with medics, looked to be an ankle, or lower leg injury of sorts. I hate to see injuries. Kid is a good player for HC.
  21. 14-7 Beechwood with 5 minutes left in the first half.
  22. Tie ball game 7-7 with 7 minutes left in the first half.
