  1. Just because a team has put up big numbers the first two weeks does not make them as good as highlands. To say that Cooper would beat highlands is ridiculous. Cooper has got a solid squad, but let's get real. Highlands is a 5 time defending state champ.
  2. Guru, not necessarily three touchdowns, but three scores.. Honestly it doesn't matter if you win by 1 or 100, a win is a win.. take them one week at a time, and 15 of them gets you a ring. Conner is focused on tonight and tonight only. Looking forward to a good game tonight, and a big win to start the season
  3. Barker has about six "weapons" that he can get the ball to, and don't forget about him running as well, he rushed for over 1000 last year. Conner has a potent offense capable of scoring A LOT of points. If defense is the question mark, the fact that they can score so many points makes that question a little less of a worry. Conner has a fast defense, and their line is strong. They will not give up nearly as much as some have predicted in this thread. Their defensive unit has improved greatly over the summer and is eager to announce their arrival, I think tonight is the night.
  4. Well, ukfan, good thing last years game scores don't count this year..
  5. To quote Urban Meyer Conner will "Bring the Juice" to Florence on Friday night, and take this one running away. The Cougars are full strength and ready to get this season underway. They simply have too many athletes on both sides of the ball, and special teams to contain. If Boone focuses on one player, the others will shred them u. My prediction: Conner wins by three scores.
  6. Conner will have their games broadcast on ustream.. connercougarfootball.com has a link to it. There is a UStream app, not sure how to get broadcasts on there but i believe that you can "join a group" and listen to the broadcast. If not, it's on the ustream website.
  7. I am pretty sure that has been done recently, and his "bashing" stopped for a short while, Im sure it will return. Yeah, I'd like to meet him someday too...
  8. The issue is not with the "excitement" in which he supports SK.. It's the fact that almost zero credit is given to any player or team other than SK. He bashes everyone other than SK and it's players. It's even gotten to the point where he enters threads that arent SK related, and ruins them. Like others have said, it's a tired act. I am all for someone rooting for their team, but lets get real, all the other stuff is just not necissary.
  9. You are not a critic, because critics know what they are talking about, and make educated and informed statements on a topic. You, my friend, are someone who enjoys stirring the pot by making outlandish statements with little to zero facts to back them up.
  10. No surprises here.. Conner did what they should have done against a lesser team. They did not play down to their competition, they dominated, but as others have said, that was to be expected. Good tune up for Boone Co. next friday.
  11. The Draper family has been strong for many years, as I know them personally. Prayers go out to them in their time of need. God Bless them, Mr. & Mrs. Draper now have two angels looking down on them..
  12. Voice Of Reason- Barker threw for over 1000 yards last year, could have been more, he sat out two games due to injury. What does he have to do to impress you throwing the ball?
  13. There are some kids who have athletic ability, and can have excellent numbers during a camp, or combine, however can't transfer that onto the game field. Just because a kid is fast, doesn't mean he's a great player.. For example: There are a lot of "track kids" who can flat out fly speed wise, but only weigh 150 lbs, and can't take the beating on the field. Sure there are the exceptions to that rule, but it's just an example of how camp numbers can, at times, give a "false reading" as to how good of a football player a kid actually is.
  14. Agree, camps put kids "on the radar" and sometimes add hype to a player before they even play, and that puts pressure on the player to perform when it matters. Many schools use the camps and combines to map out who they want to recruit, and how hard. If a kid goes to a camp, and has a stellar day, the school will, many times, then begin the recruiting process. Lots of schools decide to offer after seeing the player in game action. After September 1st (i believe) is when colleges can begin to contact players again, so that is after the first couple games are played and most likely when we will be hearing about kids picking up more offers.
  15. Yes Mex, Trinity's backup QB is a top 50 prospect.. He has already gotten offers.. Not sure who from, maybe someone from Shamrock Nation can fill us in. You know the school is a powerhouse when the backup QB is fielding scholarship offers..
  16. http://www.courier-journal.com/article/20120813/SPORTS0501/308130110/Top-50-college-prospects-Kentucky?nclick_check=1 Louisville Courier Journal listing for the top 50 College prospects in the state. This is a different list than the one earlier in the week from the Lexington Herald.
  17. It's a shame that the defending 2A state champs have such a low interest at the freshman level this year that the season had to be cancelled. It is my understanding that only 10 kids came out for the team this year, so they have all been moved to JV, and there will be no freshman season. Does anyone have any insight as to why there is so little interest from the younger generation of Holy Cross football players?
  18. Why is there a prediction thread for a scrimmage in week 0? There are real games to be played and talked about this week. However Conner will have the majority of the starters that sat for the Beechwood scrimmage suited up for this weeks scrimmage against Holmes. Wrapping everything up, and fine tuning it for the matchup on the 24th in Florence against those who wear powder blue.
  19. Yes Imhisdad you are correct, Colerain is not in the GCL. The GCL is the Greater Catholic League. Colerain is a public school in Cincinnati. I don't think they are "ducking" Trinity, I just don't think it is possible for them to play. I do believe that, if they were to play, Trinity would win by a large margin (two touchdowns or more). Colerain is a quality football program, however Trinity is a superior program, one of the best in the country year in and year out. No question about the outcome of this "what if" game. Trinity wins big.
  20. I think there is probably a specific "reason" this year's thread has so many posts, and we all know his name.
  21. If you are suggesting that someone else is "taking jabs" you need to take a huge step back, and READ what you type in every single CHS thread. You are absurd. The comments you make about the players on Conner's team amazes me. And regarding your comment about a 5A school "struggling".. They did not struggle. They scored more TD's than the other team, playing with 6 starters on the sidelines, and a WR/DB playing quarterback.. Get a grip dude..
  22. That is in basketball hot shot.. What is wrong with you? And in case you didn't notice this is a thread regarding the scrimmage game between Conner and Beechwood, nowhere in the title of the thread does it say anything about Simon Kenton, how "good" their defense is, or the 1981 men's basketball team..
  23. Ukfan- if they beat him to the edge, it's because they had What's called a pursuit angle.. have you ever played a down of football in your life? Madden on the Xbox doesn't count
