Also please understand my post are not excuses. I have no skin in this thread but just stating what I observed. I do think if Conner has PG on the floor, Pluto or Gambrell that would have taken some ball handling responsibility off of Scott. Scott IMO opinion is the NKY MVP year to date and she can only do so much. It was stated earlier each team played their hearts out and all the girls tried to do their best! Again congratulations to Highlands on a great win!

I do not think anyone is saying Gambrell would not have helped. The point I was making is that Conner was handling the pressure until Pluto got her fourth. IMO when Conner is getting pressed they need both Pluto and Gambrell on the floor together and then Scott can do what she is best at doing which is shooting lights out!

Should be fun to watch and beat of luck to all the NKY teams!

I agree having Gambrell would have helped for sure, IMO when Pluto was on the floor they handled the press. Conner was up 14 went Pluto got her fourth in the 3rd and then I think Scott became the primary ball handler and took her out of her regular scoring position. There were a lot of turnovers when Pluto was on the bench. I think if Pluto did not get her fourth Conner may have handled the pressure a little better and having Gambrell to fill in that role would have helped for sure. Great game and congratulations to Highlands on a good win.

I think you missed my point, if they possibly meet later when it is win or go home why give everything in playbook to win a meaningless game. That is all I am saying! I am sure Coach Stamm will have them ready for both games.

I agree this could be a preview which is why IMO they do not give away everything in the play book. Why would you go all out in this game when Conner has a key matchup on Tuesday against Ryle which is what they really need to be focused on. I would hate to see them have a great emotional victory Saturday night and then come out flat against Ryle. Not saaying that is what would happen but I just dont think this game is as important as Conner winning district games. I respect your take and obviously this is just mine!

IMO both coaches will hold back the playbook just a little anticpating that these two teams could meet down the road when there is more on the line.

I believe in the two loses they were without a key post player so they were not full strength, also I was told that Scott fouled out of the Gallatin game with 3 minutes to go. They lost by six and believe were in the game into the final minute. I would like to see them play Gallatin and PRP with Meyers.

They are ranked in the top 20 in the state, 3rd in one poll and 1st in another in the region, this is about those who say they are not worthy of that recognition.

Conner is a very good team, top 5 in region 9 for the second year in a row. They get at you on both ends and coach Stamm is becoming one of the top coaches in the region. IMO Jordan Scott is a player of the year candidate in the 9th. Also IMO opinion Conner needs to focus on beating Boone, Ryle and Cooper, get top seed and win the district and then focus on the 9th.

I think this looks fairly good where the NKY teams are placed. I think right now SK is the best and ND is number 2. The margin difference between NC and Conner is 1/10 of a percent which does seem reasonable. although Conner beat NCC, NCC has played a couple stronger opponents on their overall schedule. I am not saying Conner has a soft schedule at all but NCC has played a couple more teams with better records. iMO I love what Conner is doing and they could win the region but right now I hope they are focused on beating Boone, Ryle and Cooper and win a district which I think they should do but only time well tell. Holmes is a very good team and their athleticism is amazing. Only way I see anyone beating this team is to slow down the pace and as another post pointed out bang it inside and get second and third chance points. Fun to watch and what a great crowd!

Wow, had the pleasure to meet him last year and seemed like a great guy. I wonder if he will coach again at another school or possibly a move to the Boy's side? I wish him the best of luck in his future and a big loss for Manual.

I am done picking, I say the best team tonight will win and then who knows if and when they meet again. I think truly there are maybe 6 or 7 teams that could beat each other on any given night in the 9th region. Those teams are (ND, NCC, Highlands, Conner, Holy Cross, Holmes, Boone and Ryle). I really think the partity is that even. Good luck to all the teams playing and I think I am going to take in the boys game tonight at CCH.

Let's face it she has been at Boone since what the 80's, not everyone will agree with her style and in today's society her behavior is consider by some to be out of line. I believe there has been a lot of players through the years that has endured her unacceptable behavior and have gone on in life to be very successful. I am going to guess we all have had moments we are not proud of and at least give Nell credit for not trying to be someone she is not. good thing for the Boone program that the administration has seen the benefit of her leading young women as opposed to those who believe she needs to be removed. Good luck to Boone, coach Fookes and the entire Boone Co staff.

The Dosset sister's are the real deal. Watched this team over the summer and they are a nice team. Not sure if they can beat SK or Anderson Co but I think they have a very good chance to win the 8th region all A. Congrats to Gallatin and good luck to all the teams in the 8th region. Nice win!

I agree that a coach should be a role model and needs to develop young student athletes. Unfortunately with HS sports however it is competitive sports. The fans and all of their opinions only make it worst. As an example we as fans, myself included list names of players that do exciting things on the filed of battle but do any of us give credit to all the kids on these teams and their contribution. In a perfect world your scenario is accurate and I believe Upward basketball is a great example of that type of development. This however is competitive sports, coaches and kids get criticized constantly and it is fans that do it. I like what you say and agree the balance must be maintained in developing young adults but until we as fans stop criticizing coaches, players and refs then I do think these coaches are paid to do what it takes to win! If they don't normally they get fired!

If one thinks about it that is what she is paid to do. Create whatever advantage a coach can to win games. If teams play themselves into her web then the X factor wins out. Unfortunately in my opinion when scouting Nell Fookes teams do not only need to measure the play of the team but her influence over the entire game. Any team that blames losing a game because of the refs then they put themselves in a position that the refs could determine the outcome. Take control of the game and good or bad calls will NOT be the determining factor of the outcome. Conner did a great job hosting a great holiday tournament and I look forward to next year. The ninth region is going to be very interesting for the balance of the year.

I do not think Taylor played because of injury. I am sure she would have made a difference and the game would have been a little more competitive. Campbell to me is big and can be very good. Not sure of overall shooting percentage last night but they missed a lot of shots. They had a girl in the JV game #34 that was very impressive. The JV team shot the ball very well, #3 can shoot the 3's.
