2nd Annual State Farm Holiday Classic...December 27th, 28th & 29th..Where...Conner High School. Teams participating include Conner, Boone Cty, Campbell Cty, Highlands, NewCath, Louisville Pleasure Ridge Park, Lewis Cty and Southwestern.

 

Coach Stamm and his staff have been able to put together another strong tournament field so I would encourage all of you who enjoy good high school girls basketball to mark these dates on your calender. This should be one of the better tournaments in the state and certainly one most in Northern Ky would want to see.

The brackets haven't been released yet as far as I know. Will try to post as information becomes available. As for a favorite I'm not sure there is a clear cut choice in this tournament. Coach Stamm has put together a very competitive field and I would not be surprised if anyone of 5 or 6 teams were to come out on top. This should definitely be one of the best holiday tournaments in the state.

I have heard Southwestern is very young, but can really play. checking last years roster it looks they started 4 freshmen and an 8th grader on varsity and won 21 games in a very tough 12th region. PRP is usually very athletic and highly competitive. Don't know much about Lewis Co. I know the NKY teams will be very competitive as well. I agree with you, should be a great tourney.

We'll plan to broadcast the Campbell County/Boone County game along with the Conner/NCC game. We'll be sharing time again with the Lloyd Memorial Christmas Tournament.

I saw Lewis once last year and they were young, but very, very scrappy & physical. They have a really nice post player in sophomore Savannah Anderson. I'm not sure how well they'll be able to compete in this tournament, but I'm sure Coach Fite will use it to prepare them to make a run in the 16th Region, which I fully expect them to do.

Looks like a nice lineup with a mix of local teams and some teams from other parts of the state. Very much look forward to taking in some the games. Nice job by the Conner district and staff putting together a local holiday tournament.
