Both Trusty (Beechwood) and Ziegler (Highlands) are solid defensive catchers. They both work hard back there and can block a ball up.

It is so sad...and to your point.....I admit, I assumed that her mother was not there because I would think that mom would have pulled her out of a potentially dangerous situation before the first tweet related to gunshots was tweeted. 'Put that phone down and let's get out of here" instinctual parenting type stuff. I'm really not judging anyone's actions...I just keep thinking ...man I wish that this could have been avoided. Such a respected/talented young woman with what seemed to be a huge future ahead of her gone for no reason.

Not new......The All Star game for Sophomores (all regions represented) was played at Pleasure Ridge Park last year. Just not a lot of information out there on it.

Not the same Elder as seasons past but a win against Elder is a win against Elder. It feels good no matter how bad Elder is playing. We just wont dance around in our underwear for weeks celebrating a victory over a struggling team.

Unofficial line on Rom - 6 innings 7ks, 0 BB, 1 HB, 7 hits, 4 earned. Elder hit him hard in the first but not much from the purple after he settled in. No walks....No errors in the field makes for a good game. Birds had 8+ hits and seemed to have gotten a little rhythm going. Hopefully, it carries to tomorrow's game against Beechwood.

Pitched #1 for sure in Raisor. #2 is still up for grabs. The inconsistent defensive play is creating trust issues for the pitchers. Tough to pitch to contact with confidence. SK squared up well on a few....and the defense helped with the rest....Logan Scott pitched a great game and Downs is getting into a groove at the plate.

Unconfirmed but heard Raisor was sitting 86-87 hit 89, Doty sitting 85-86 hit 87. First pitcher from Conner had what looked like a wicked slider that froze a bunch of hitters. Walkenhorst from HHS drilled a couple of line drives and was probably 2/3. Kid has been working in the off season. Starting to look like old Glenn Braggs and will probably start breaking bats on his back soon. Great kid. Kreeger hit and a couple of Conner hitters had some pop as well. Most hitters were late but there were a few that made late work for them. Good to be outside for both teams, I'm sure.:ylsuper:
