  1. Go Dirty Birds!
  2. Actually, I think it's 5. 4 may have played and the 5th is nursing an injury.
  3. This what I found: Starting Pitcher for Highlands - Walkenhorst Relief - Miller-Cox and Rust Highlands played 3 8th graders last night. Leadoff hitter, 8th grader Kyle Rust, smashed the ball all night long!
  4. I heard that Kenny Ball and Todd Ramey were selected for "All tournament team"? Not sure what all that entails but it sounds like they were recognized by the tournament director after the game. Good stuff...!!!
  5. Pat Maley is the Frosh coach for St. Henry. He grooms the field nightly from what I hear. He's good baseball people.:thumb:
  6. Coach Maley runs a nice program. Ernie Brady is a nice addition to the coaching staff as well. Nice field, Nice weather, and a good game to watch...!!! Where does the Radilla kid play summer ball?
  7. The kids hanging out waiting for rides after workouts seem to be getting bigger and stronger. Any new kids join the team? I don't recognize all of the faces.
  8. I agree....middle school is the place to teach them to get in and bang. Only a handful 6th through 8th that seem to get it...Where's the Dennis Rodman box out when you need it?
  9. Both have excellent speed and will be fun to watch!
  10. The next year is going to be fun to watch. Kids growing. Dads shrinking. Lafrange has a nice shot and will definitely play a major role on the Frosh team when they hit the court again in 2013.
  11. I recently heard that Pulsfort was out with an appendix issue. Not sure if he's back yet.
  12. Sounds like we need to test it. Let's all get together and take a few swings at an 84 mph fastball from 60 and then have the pitcher move up 6 feet. In the Little league world series (from 46 feet I think) they typically show pitch speed comparing say a 71 mph pitch as the equivalent to a 90+ MLB fastball etc. Not sure how it's calculated but it tells me it at the very least it feels faster to the hitter.
  13. Did they pitch from 54 last year or 60? I've heard great things about these kids. Are they 14U or 15U this year?
  14. Should a 13 yr. old be attempting a slider at this point? What's the right age?
  15. Googled Team - Leaguetime - Didn't know: Harris, Enslen, McHugh, Hightchew, Gesenhues.
  16. Call them what you want but I just looked at last year's roster and I will take 6 of them. I only say 6 because I don't know the rest. Solid ball players.
  17. Am I correct in saying that NCC fields an all new Freshman class each year (no 8th graders to move up)? Do you have a line on where the players from this newest class have been playing?
  18. The word on the street is that additional cuts are coming. Looking forward to seeing the final rosters.
  19. Heard about Trame and watched Ohmer throw last year. He has a good arm. Are they the 1 2 3 for Scott?
  20. Who does that leave Beechwood Freshman as their #1 and #2?
  21. Are Combs and Stringer true Freshman or younger players?
  22. How deep is the Cooper Freshman team in pitching? Have the 2013 Cooper rosters been confirmed? Caught a game last year and the team hit the ball well. Not sure how many from last year's team are now sophs.
  23. The regular season starts in less than a month. Which NKY Freshman Teams will dominate and who are the players on your "Up and coming" watch list?
  24. Cuts today? More tomorrow? What's the scoop?
