SK and Grant County played even for about 4 minutes , then SK started turning over the Lady Braves. Billie Hearn was in foul trouble and never really got into the game. Christina Cook was the tournament mvp.

I don't know who it would benefit in the 9th region, but if SK played on a big court, they would be a heavy favorite, even with NDA in the field. A big court would favor SK depth and team speed.

Somebody help me here with the rules. If there was blood on the uniform, why is this a charged timeout and not an officials timeout?

Then perhaps its time to scrutinize Walton's AD. Losing 2 quality coaches in a short period of time merits closer examination of administration and culture.

As I recall, the last girls coach at WV, who was very successful, resigned citing stress concerns.

Walton's style of play is appropriate for the kids they have as is SK's style of play for the kids they have. With two big kids that need to play a lot of minutes, you can't run up and down the court. It was not that long ago that SK played a slow it down half court game. Their kids are smaller and faster now, so they are able to play more up tempo.

Some parents need to be sensitized to how much coaches and their families sacrifice so that their kids can be coached!

After the Walton - Grant County result, I've decided to retire from prediction threads for the year!

With two nieces on the girls bb team and two sons on the swim team, I don't get to many of the boys games. Of the games I have been to, I have noticed almost as many kids on crutches as those that were dressed. I noticed everyone playing hard and with intensity. I know of at least two girls team that held a state ranking that did not make it out of the district round. I'm thankful the SK boys are still playing!

I'll take Holy Cross(Covington) in the 9th and Simon Kenton in the 8th. Don't know enough about the other regions to make even an educated guess. Coach1990, those are some pretty safe picks, how about sticking the neck out some!

However, when it leaks out that xyz coach is a candidate at abc high school the kids that are in the current program of xyz, or even in the feeder system, that are not yet bound by the transfer rule start considering the possibility that coach xyz is not going to be there, they start thinking about visiting other programs. How could you blame them?

First of all, shouldn't there really be an expectation of confidentiality when interviewing for a job? Not just in athletics, but in any profession? Second, no one can be faulted for wanting to improve their economic position. Third, the people being hurt most by the lack of confidentiality in this process are the kids! Fourth, is that spreading of disinformation about such a process could be used to try to intentionally damage a competing program. In general, I don't like it at all.

Its too bad this kind of information has to get to a public forum like this. People are entitled to improve themselves financially to better care for their families and the football communities should not have wonder if they are in a stable coaching situation. Coaches commit so much much time for so little money that this stuff should not be hung out there for public consumption.

Whoever takes over at Boone has a lot of work to do. There is no established feeder system. Relations with the parents and boosters needs to be established, and in some sense repaired. Field and conditioning facilities need to be upgraded. Despite the talent in this jr class at Boone, I don't see over night success regardless of who takes over. A QB takes 3 years min to develop , and it needs to start at the feeder level. Add to that we are already a month into off season conditioning with spring football around the corner with no hire in place for several weeks yet. Expectations need to be contained to a reasonable level. An outsider in this job would be real culture shock at Boone.

After reading the box score , I noticed there were only 11 made free throws by BOTH teams. That is not indicative of two teams attacking the basket. Either there was not much defense played, or contact was allowed. I've already commented that I perceived 9th region officials allow more contact than 8th. Seems to be something to it.

I wonder if the timing in this expression of interest could be a statement of percieved ability to succede vs imposed expectations. They are about to graduate a senior QB.

Last time I looked at the enrollment numbers, both Boone and Dixie were just above the 6A threshold. Neither of these schools have room for expansion. Cooper and Scott are both scheduled for expansion projects.
