Simon Kenton 53 Walton Verona 47

For the senior parents, guarantees two more games of watching Steiner be confused.

Congrats to the WV staff for preparing a great game plan.

Great game tonight. It is a shame that both schools didn't have more support there to see what HS basketball is all about. WV had a great gameplan and executed it for about 25 minutes to perfection. They lost focus for a minute and Simon Kenton took advantage. WV then battled to keep it close the whole way. Credit to WV's staff for a great gameplan and credit to Simon Kenton's staff for not panicking.

Great win with leading scorer held to zero field goals in Sampson. Walton had a great game plan to hold the ball till they passed 12 times. In the end it didn't work. Trevor Montgomery came up big with 12 points.

Walton played a great game with the exception of missing free throws and a couple bad decisions. Survive and advance! Close call for SK on a poor performance for 3 quarters!

How does SK not know Walton is going to come out in a triangle and 2? I haven't seen a Walton game all year but knew it was coming.

They didn't practice all week for Walton, focusing on Grant. Same as they did at regionals last year vs Gallatin. Players bailed out the coaching staff once again.

I would hope to think that SK prepared for WV. Focusing on Grant for that many days and not taking it one game at a time is poor practice. Who knows...

Trust me, not one thought about WV all week in practice and it showed tonight. As I said, SK lucky the players pulled this one out in the end because the coach is inept.

When's the next open house at Cov Cath? LOL

I know this is false.

I guess Coach Trame isn't as horrible contrary to some of the Walton supporters. Some have rode him like a wet horse but tonight showed he can coach. Game plan was exceptional and if there hadn't been a couple of brain farts by the players, they could have pulled the huge upset. Trame can flat out coach! Congrats to SK on the win and good luck against Grant.

Congrats Pioneers!

Great job Pioneers! Let's hope third time's a charm against GC.

I really didn't think this game would have been this close. Sounds like a great game plan by Coach Trame but they fell a little short. SK looked confused and frustrated but they held on. They will definitely have to play better if they have any thoughts of winning the 8th.

And to think, Steiner is the reigning 8th region coach of the year and no one is clamoring for his job but he was out coached all game by the guy the WV folks want to run out of town. By the way, if you voted for Steiner last year- be ashamed, very ashamed.

Surprised by the score but not surprised that Coach Trame did a number on the SK coaches....................Coach Trame has proven many times over he can flat out coach the game.
