  1. Jim is a fine coach. Best of luck.
  2. "and Snapp did a nice job with the kids from Newport" I don't like beating a dead horse, but. The kids snapp was dealing with are not from Newport, 4 of the five starters are Cincinnati kids, the other one lives in Covington. Only one kid that played lives in Newport. Maybe say snapp had a god year at Newport High. Which they did.
  3. I have seen some very bad coaches at the high school level, boys and girls. When someone talks about being "qualified" I scratch my head at this word. Some guys luck into coaching positions by knowing someone. Coaches need to be able to relate to the kids they are coaching, if you grow up in a better situation you might have a tough time doing this especially if all you hear is "how bad those kids are" and "how tough of a place that is". Go in and be HONEST, let me Say that again......BE HONEST and try to look at the world through that kids eyes and maybe you will be able to make a difference in their life.
  4. . I would think NKU needs players who can defend also. IMO
  5. Who is Bill Rogg? I don't know the name, does he have varsity experience?
  6. Ryle is a long drive from Cincinnati, but then again I thought Hebron was a long drive to Newport also.
  7. Has been zero contact?
  8. You're saying there had been zero contact?
  9. It really doesn't matter if Ethan is eligible or not, there is no way Snapp is sending his son to Newport if he gets the job at Ryle, for any reason. Snapp is still doing things at Newport as if he is coming back next year. So that tells me he's not very sure he will get the job. Just have to wait and see.
  10. Dwight Campbell could flat out get up!
  11. The trophies just made the moment feel like any other tournament. Our state tourney is the king and so should the awards.
  12. Was anyone else bothered by the new trophies? I myself thought they looked cheap. We have one true state champion in basketball, so why would the KHSAA want to cheapin the greatest show in basketball?
  13. Did anyone hear how Rod Snapps interview went?
  14. Has a northern kentucky girls team ever won a state championship?
  15. Question, did he turn Newport around? Didn't he take over after Newport won the region?
  16. Does anyone think that any other local coaches have a chance of getting the position? Jim Hicks at Bellevue or Rod Snapp from Newport? I'm pretty sure hicks graduated from Highlands.
  17. He left the team the weekend before the start of regionals I believe. I heard he was having trouble with some of the players on the team.
  18. I overheard at the BOKC that the Ryle job is opening. Can anyone confirm?
  19. I'm pretty sure Mike will be back at Highlands next year.
  20. Is St. Henry down a player? I thought they had a tall guy in the middle. I can't remember his name.
  21. I hear that the Parker kid has transferred back to his former school.
  22. Devin Meyer played his butt off and had I believe 15. Joe Hornback had 19 against a pretty darn good defensive Newport team who was focused on stopping him. I'm not saying the poinsett kid didn't play well(13pts), I thought the coach would maybe give it to a deserving senior on their team. I was at the Newport Bellevue game and when the Hornback kid would leave the game Newport would start to pull away and when he would return, Newport's lead would shrink. Not that any of this matters at this point, was just making an observation.
  23. No senior from Bellevue, interesting.
