What is/should the ruling be on the kid's eligibility?

 

If a kid's parent is a teacher and coach does that change anything?

Good question. KHSAA wording says nothing about it as far as I know.

I know if you are a teacher, you can live out of district and have your kid go to the school you teach at tuition free....KHSAA obviously has rules, but I'd assume the same would apply to a kid who is an athlete. (Granted eligibility without paying the price of sitting out a year)

Sure sounds like it. Yes his son will be eligible to play at the high school to which he relocates.

Based on the KHSAA wording of the transfer rule -- athlete should be ineligible.

 

Based on the umpteen transfers that have occurred in the last 10 years that also should have been ineligible based on the KHSAA wording of the transfer rule that were found to be eligible - athlete will be eligible.

He played varsity basketball this year, so the transfer rule may be applicable. Will still say that he is eligible no matter where his dad ends up.

We still have to wait and see if Snapp does indeed leave. I know of circumstances where the child was ruled ineligible by KhSAa.
