Only 5 Breds score for 2nd game in a row.

Was this ever in doubt?

Thanks for the text updates LB

Congrats NCC

Newport lead 14-10 in the second quarter and had played very well up to that point. Then NCC switched defenses and went on a 14-2 run up to halftime leading 24-16. Newport hung around down between 8 and maybe 14 was the largest lead. Got as close as 7 in 4th after a three with maybe a minute and change left. Short(s) played well and Commodore got some offensive put backs. NCC was pretty much McDonald inside and then balanced scoring after that. Newport had a hard time defending him inside. They did play zone for about 8 seconds once.

Only 5 scored in the Holmes game too...just goes to show how talented this bunch is 1-5.

Congrats to the Breds on winning the district.

Should be a fun region tourney. Whoever draws Newport in the first round is in for one hell of a game.

According to some on this website the score would indicate two offensively challenged basketball teams with each scoring 50 or less. Big turning point in the game was the "T" on Newport player for jawing to Seibert, though he was not an innocent bystander.

2 teams that aren't winning the region.

No senior from Bellevue, interesting.

Interesting. Wasn't it you not to long ago that said it came down to Holmes or NCC? NCC beats Holmes and now they aren't going to win the region.

Laughable...... You have any more jokes?

It's easy to pick who ISN'T going to win. Picking who IS may be a little tougher.

Congrats to NCC for the win and congrats to those who made All Tourney.

On a side note, did anybody notice the backboards shaking after shots?

This time of the year, nobody knows who is going to win the region. That's easy to say that they aren't, though I would disagree with you. I think NewCath has as good a shot as any. And Newport is a talented team and they have hung in there with some of NKY's best.

I know one thing, the 9th Region Tourney will without a doubt be entertaining this year.

Yes. Ncc peaked against Holmes. They are now struggling offensively. Their season ends in another regional disappointment.
