SMASH is right about one thing. I should have stated that Monroe beat PT with heart, a great coach and teamwork instead of the way I previously stated. I sometimes become too overzealous in my post as a fan and forget that there are young boys becoming young men on the field. It will not be the last time or the first time that have I put my foot in my mouth .

Yes and pleasantly surprized with the visitor's facilities.

Great game . Congrats Central. Central was an excellant host.
-
No you are wrong. You cannot take those three things from the Monroe kids. ,

Don't worry about it. Everyone has at least once in their lifetime opened their mouth and inserted their foot in it.

Monroe County/Central predictions
dynamite-tnt replied to Randy Parker's topic in KY Football (High School)
Monroe is not the same team that you witnessed in the scrimmage with Wayne. The offensive line has become a solid unit. If the defense plays their usual tenacious defensive game, then Coach Petett's deep playbook and Monroe's offensive line performance will decide the outcome of the game. Again it is up to the offensive line's performance. In the region Monroe has flown under everyone's radar this year for sure. PT overlooked them . Central could also be overlooking Monroe . I sure hope so. It makes possible victory sweeter. Monroe 26 Cenral 20 -
4A Playoffs: Owensboro at Warren East
dynamite-tnt replied to gchs_uk9's topic in KY Football (High School)
Warren East has proven me wrong 3 times. I hope they win, but I am not going to pick them to win this time either. WHY one may ask? I may jinx their playoff run if I pick them to win. Hope to see them in the state title game. Prove me wrong again Warren East Owensboro 18 Warren East 14 -

I have resided in 4 towns 5 to 6 times larger than Paducah. I just can't buy the city thing as an excuse for the coaches' antics. Concerning the kids I can seen your point. Their enviroment at home does play a huge roll in their character. Thats when you need a good coach who can coach the sport but also provide some direction on character and life. Monroe is like all other counties with it's share of crime, murder and drugs. Many kids on Monroe's team come from single parent homes. Some even are raised by their grandparents, uncles, aunts, and even friends. I just cannot excuse the obscene language I heard on the field that night. With that said. I thought your QB was very impressive. 31 was a beast with good speed. D line was the quickest that I had seen in several years. They just swarmed to the ball where ever it was at on the field. -

PT's coach had a filty mouth that was shameful. At the end of the game the mf-bombs coming from the mouths of pt players, coaches, and parents was a disgrace . Does the coach think that he is auditioning for the part of Bear Bryant in the Junction Boys made for TV movie???/ Tsyoung is right about guidance.......none what so ever from their coaching staff . What a waste . PT could be playing for the championship with their speed and talent. -
Monroe County 28 Paducah Tilghman 20

Monroe County had 3 things Paducah Tilghman did not have tonight . They are 1. One Great Coach , who the kids respect and love ...... 2. Players that play as a Team........ 3. Heart -

Paducah Tilghman vs. Monroe County Predictions
dynamite-tnt replied to swamprat's topic in KY Football (High School)
Adair actually has some good athletes and size but seem to lose their momentum when the other teams score first. If the other team was up by 14 the Adair Kids seem to lose their mental toughness and give in some. The community support for Adair football is just not there either. IMO They have the kids and talent ...I just don't know what they are missing. Looking forward to the game between Monroe and PT. If Monroe can defend against the pass this game will go back and forth till the end. Monroe 24 PT 21 -

Is PT expecting the same Monroe team as last year and an easy win? I believe it will not be an easy game for either team. -

Monroe needs to be ready for an all out battle with an emotional Heath team. This could be Heath's last high school football game for the history books. The Heath kids will be giving it everthing they have to move on. Heath, Lone Oak, and Reidland will consolidate next year and become the new Mccracken County High school. -
Does enrollment size matter?
dynamite-tnt replied to PurplePride92's topic in KY Football (High School)
Good football program begins with 4 huge key influences. In order of importance I believe they are an excellant coaching staff , above average community support, good facilities and the size of enrollment. Enrollment size is a key like it or not. Some schools have the enrollment just not the other 3 key influences. -

10 Poorest Cities in America VERY INTERESTING If true.
dynamite-tnt replied to CBDV's topic in Kentucky / National Politics
With cheaper prices comes lower quality. It is not easy to find good quality shoes, clothing, furniture, tools, electronics, and toys made in America. The sad truth is that free trade equals less manufacturing jobs for the poor and middle class. It is amazing how many small communities in America are begging for industry. How many large industrial companies are willing to locate to a town the size of lebanon , Monticello, Marion, or Corbin, Ky??? My mother's textile factory lay off 150 employees because it lost a bid to make the TSA uniforms for the govt. The bid went to a company that took the contract to a factory in Mexico. The sandwich shop and quick shop across the street will have less sales as a result. I wonder how those employees feel about free trade and cheap labor in other countries.
