How does one get contact info or tryout dates for some of the some teams? Looking for a 17u team.

Contrary to what others have said, I think Lex Cath weakness is their half court defense. Not saying it is bad....just they tend to "rest up" thinking they can play average defense but beat you with their outstanding offense. Works most of the time!!! I think Dixie will be able to take advantage of this and use their passing/driving offense to get Lex Cath in some foul trouble by reaching/slapping on defense rather than moving. If Dixie can get Martin and Schutte some time on the bench, they can pull an upset. Bottom line is Dixie keeps it close, but Lex Cath offense is a little too strong. Lex Cath by 6.

Madison Central got their wake up call with the one point win over Franklin County. Look like Tates Creek was still reading their press clippings about their easy win over Henry Clay and their matchup with Lex Catholic in the 11th Region finals

I agree with panther fan. So what if the manner in which the "new" referres call the game is just a litte different than what the "regular" refs in that region have called all year. It's fair for both teams with no bias for how the teams have previously played. Good teams and good players can adjust !!

Yes, they play Madison Central in the semi-final. Madison Central got their wake-up call against Franklin County. Tates Creek should win, but they won't have as easy of game as they did against Henry Clay.

I think Trinity has everybody back......not a senior on the team. Anybody confirm??

Franklin County was called for 29 fouls and Madison Central was called for 19. Franklin County had one starter foul out and the other four starters finished with four fouls each. Madison Central also had on starter foul out. Franklin County attempted 23 free throws, 40 by Madison Central. Madison Central shot 40% from the field including six of 11 from the three point line. Were 27 of 40 free throws. Franklin County shot 54.2% from the field including six of 14 from treyville. The Flyers connected on 14 of 23 free throws.

Franklin County got in early foul trouble with several players having to sit more than usual. The reserves played their hearts out. Madison Central got in foul trouble the second half and Franklin County's "well rested" players made a furious rally. Franklin County got the lead late just could not make one more play to seal the win. Big win for Madison Central.

Tates Creek pretty much coasted once they got the big lead. Henry Clay tried to come back but could not get a run going.

Lex Catholic was in control from the opening tip. Their 2-2-1 press gave Lafayette all kinds of trouble. Lex Cath looking strong. Game vs Tates Creek should be a great one!

Franklin County had problems taking care of the ball. Give Western Hills defense lots of credit for playing a tougher game than the previous contest. Pressure defense, especially on the inbounds, slowed the Flyers. Timmons apparently had some leg cramps in the second half and needed to sit. Free throws late saved it for Franklin County.

Just had a thread like this a couple weeks ago. It is now District Tournament time......let it rest. Everyone cheer for their team. Even if you don't think you have the greatest Coach, there are lots of young men that like to see some fans in the stands!!

Sportsmaniac makes a good point about it being a little early to start talking coaching changes. Still a chance for everyone to have a good year with District Tourneys almost here. I am intrigued about the part concerning "their livelihood is made in the classroom". I wonder how many Varsity coaches (especially basketball and football)have anything close to a full teaching schedule similar to other teachers. I'll bet it is a significant minority, especially in the larger schools.

Glad to see KHSAA taking some action........we need more groups (especially local school administrators, athletic directors, etc.) to be less tolerant of unsportmanship behavior exhibited by coaches. This only serves to encourage fans to respond in a likewise negative manner, not to mention the terrible example it sets for our student athletes. With this kind of action being exhibited in public, we can only imagine the attitude/language that is used in practice.........which is usually behind closed doors.

Timmons did play a great game.... lightning quick....can drive to the basket on anyone.....passing is improving......will need to demonstrate an ability to shoot from the perimeter if he wants a to be listed among the truly elite players. Only a sophomore.

Prediction - Woodford will beat Frankfort pretty handily......Franklin County struggles, but pulls out a close one at Western Hills. In the end the District seeds will be 1. Franklin County 2. Woodford Co. 3. Frankfort 4. Western Hills
