If you shake hands after a win, you need to be man enough to shake hands after a disappointing loss!!

The point here is that Coach Feldhaus has done the "hand shake" after all the games this season.........gets beat at a game they were favored to win and walks straight to the locker room. This is not setting a good example for the student athletes!!! Needless to say, I think the after game handshake demonstrates both character and sportsmanship. In life after basketball (i.e. the "real business world") most face to face deals are closed with a handshake after tough negotiations. Might as well get used to it!

The Player/Coach of the year announcement was not done very well. They did sort of a "double announcement" and the players from Madison Central and Woodford did come out for the recognition.......Coach Feldhaus was nowhere to be seen though!!! Taking his players and staff directly to the locker room without shaking hands after the game was shameful!!!!!!!! I did see one Madison Central player go and shake hands with Woodford County. Did not get his number, but great sportmanship on his part.

So did Franklin County......so much for trying to finish strong and close the gap.

Not to take anything away from Woodford Co's effort and executing at the end to win the game, but Lexington Catholic played pretty poor. Lex Cath's bench did not score, 5 for 14 on Free Throws, weak 3 pt shooting, could not score on the inside when the game was up for grabs. Lex Catholic was up 9 in second half and looked like they may pull it out, but Woodford Co just would not die.......Woodford Co just wanted it more, and they got it!!

What's the rule?? - Johnson got a clean attempt at dunking the missed shot as the ball came off the rim.....as he dunks, the ball pops up and falls back through the goal....Johnson grabs the rim as players have fallen down under the goal.....the ball does go through the basket while Johnson has hold of the rim......tough call....could have been a game-changer......what's the rule??? dunk or goal tending?

I'd stiil have Lex Cath in Tier 1.....a bad game versus Lafayette does not make them less dangerous, only strengthens them.

I probably should have completed my statement by saying they probably meant to have Logan Woodside named as Honorable mention rather than Zach Bowman. Logan had an excellent year as the starting QB for Franklin County. Zach, who was the starting QB the previous year, was a senior who also had an excellent year on the field. He battled for the starting QB position his Senior year, but when it didn't happen he made a strong contribution primarily on the defensive side and as backup QB. Got to give him a lot of credit.

I notice that Ryan Timmons from Franklin County made 1st team. Congrats to him!! In the AP team announced a couple of weeks ago he was nowhere to be found. Hope including him means this was is a better overall list......however they also list Zach Bowman from Franklin County as Honorable Mention at the QB position. Zach was backup QB this year to Logan Woodside.....

Game was at Woodford. Lead changed hands several times. Neither team could put together any type of run to pull away. Jay Johnson participated in warm-up drills prior to the game. Hope that he can get back on the court soon. Franklin County played a great game and was the better team on friday night. Got to point out that the Anderson Co receivers looked like UK most of the night........dropped several balls that were on target.

Flyers win, but they get caught lookin' ahead to the matchup with Anderson Co next week and have to rally in the second half for the second straight week. FCHS 35 - Woodford 14

Franklin County's more balanced offense was a difference in this game. East Jessamine showed no ability to pass and this allowed Franklin County to load up for the running game. Got to give a lot of credit to Jay Brough and Dale Hensley on the line. I think this was the first game back for Hensley after injury......heard his name called several times for key tackles.

Franklin County's defense will be put to the test, especially the D-line. Have been concerned if they can actually stop a powerful running back. In the end I will take Franklin County 28 - East Jessamine 14
