  4. Wrong guy. Brandon Dixon is 23 year-old IF drafted in the 3rd round in 2013. I don't think he is in the Dodgers top 25 but could be wrong.

  8. Regardless of where Patrick ends up, I wish him nothing but great success. He has a bright future in whatever he decides to do in life. However, I think Pat will need a lot of help this offseason to fix some of the problems he developed at UK. We can talk about his intangibles (size, arm, mobility, etc.) until we are blue in the face, but the fact is through 20 plus starts at UK, he showed absolutely no improvement. I realize the offensive line and receivers were not good, but his footwork and ability to read coverages has been a huge issue for quite some time. While I think if he goes to the right coach with the right system these things could be fixed to an extent, it will take a whole lot of work to fix these fundamental issues.
  9. While I agree that the sample size is still to small to make any definite conclusions, I still do not understand how anyone who watched the game yesterday could truly believe that Towles gives the offense a better chance to succeed than Barker does. When Barker came into the game yesterday, he made the offense look like a completely different unit. Like Clyde said, the interception is not something you want, but that's bound to happen when you have played so few snaps. Drew looked more comfortable, more decisive, and more in control of the offense in his first true meaningful game action than Towles really ever has. At this point in the season, I think you turn the team over to Drew and see what he can do. He will do no worse and has much more upside than Pat has at this point.
  10. Yeah, I think it was like 25 years or so prior to that win in 2011.
  11. Nope.. 2011 was the last W for the Cats in this series.
  12. This years team seems to have a lot of the same problems as last years team. Strong first half showings that fade quickly once the second half begins. IMO some of that can be contributed to a lack of halftime adjustments. I also think many of players on this team are mentally weak. They fold instead of clawing their way back when something goes wrong. This team has a long way to go still. I still think they find a way to get to 6 wins and a bowl this year, but there is no doubt they will take one off the chin next week against Tennessee. Tennessee is on a completely different planet when it comes to talent level. If UK doesn't come out blazing, it will quickly turn into another 20-30 point beatdown.
  13. I don't disagree with Stoops commitment to stick with one QB. However, I think his handling of the situation has been poor to say the least. He first told Drew that he would see time in the first 3 games. That didn't happen. He then said Drew would play for sure against EKU and that didn't happen either. He then goes on to say in his post-game press conference that he really thought hard about bringing Drew in when Towles was struggling. Then last night on his radio show he says that had they brought Drew in they would have lost the game. Whether or not they would have lost, who knows. What I do know though, is that if I were Drew or his family I would be getting pretty fed up with this stuff. If Drew is not going to play, that's fine. The coaches just need to be straight up with him and stop putting him through these mind games. The only thing it's doing is shaking his confidence.
  14. 17k's. A 6th inning error kept him from the perfecto.
  15. A lot of people wishing the SEC allowed beer/liquor sales inside stadiums right now...
  16. Going to have to roll with Dalton and Co. on this one. I like the Bengals 27-17 on the road. Simply stated, the Bengals have had recent success in Baltimore and against the Ravens in general and are no doubt the better team. They show it on Sunday and win by double digits at M & T Bank Stadium.
  17. Anthony, keep stroking your ego buddy. If you really do have all the OSU coaches numbers in your phone, then it is sad how little you know about both football and life. I'm sure when you made wrong decisions in your past, grown men didn't attack you from behind a fake name on a blog. Quit throwing stones in a glass house. You do not know Drew Barker personally, that is obvious. All of your hear-say evidence is moot. It simply doesn't matter because 99% of it is simply untrue. If I were Clyde, I wouldn't even waste my time arguing with you. You obviously have nothing better to do than bash a 19 year old kid with a TON of football ability. Lastly, I have watched more of Drew Barker in a collegiate uniform (both practice and games) than probably most on here. Let me tell you, there is a reason he was a four star recruit and had 15 plus division one offers. He can play at and deserves to play at this level. Your opinion that Drew is only a better runner than Towles is also incorrect and again shows just how little you know about Drew. So, I hope the fact that you have "all the OSU coaches in your phone" helps you sleep well at night because from the looks of your idiotic posts, that's about all you have.
  18. Iglesias strikes out 10 over 7 innings of 2 run baseball. First Reds rookie to ever put up 3 consecutive starts with 10+ K's... The kid has pretty impressive stuff - look for him to be a top of the rotation guy for the Reds for years to come. Tends to give up the long-ball a little too often but I like the way he challenges hitters.
  19. I find OC Shannon Dawson's comments about QB situation after practice today very interesting. He seemed to have a difficult time providing a convincing answer on what ultimately put PT on top of the QB competition. From sifting through his comments, it seemed the only legit answer he provided was experience. If that is truly the case, which I believe it probably is based off of all the positive reports from practice on Drew coming from both coaches and the media, it will be interesting to see what happens if PT slips a little during the season. How short of a leash will he have? Because based off of the comments, experience is the only factor separating the two. To me at least, this makes it clear Drew has the higher ceiling of the two players. And if that's the case, at what point does the experience card get thrown out the window? It will be an interesting season to say the least. Dawson's comments after today's practice are posted below. On what put Patrick Towles over the top in the QB competition: "Really consistency. The kid, I mean, his efficiency is really high. Which, I say that and then if you look at (it) statistically, Drew's consistency's pretty high too. It's just that (Towles) is playing at a really high level. You factor in everything as far as experience, how he's matured since I got here -- and both of them really have -- (and) just the overall consistency of play: completion percentage, getting the ball to the right place and taking care of the ball, all of that factors in. But I say that, and it's not like Drew was playing bad. It was just, Patrick is playing really, really well."
  20. Coming out of high school Zeke was rated the third best QB in the nation behind Gunner Kiel and Jameis Winston and was looked at by some as the best high school product to come out of NKY since Shaun Alexander. Unbelievable how his life has turned for the worst. Let's hope that his brother learns from Zeke's mistakes and doesn't follow down a similar path.
