Seeding game played at Cooper. Jags jumped out to a 3 to 0 lead in the first, then things went down hill from there. Nelson goes the complete game for Conner, striking out 12. I believe Dunn started for Cooper. He looked good for the first few but then lost control of his fastball and gave up some hits/walks. Conner hitting leader were Roberts with a 2B and 3 RBI. Ryle added 5 RBI. Conner moves to 11-5 on the year. Will host Beechwood tommorrow.

Final from 4/18. Teegarden and Kremer threw for CC. Albrecht and Way for Conner. CC jumped out to a quick 5 to 0 lead in the first. Conner rallied their way back. Very good ball game for both teams.

Final from Thursday. Liechty went 6 for the Cougars with Way coming in to close it out. I believe Liggett started for the Bluebirds. Nice day for a ball game. Conner moves to 8-3 on the year..

Bluetip, I believe I wrote about Conner's defense playing suprisingly well to start the season.. I was definately proved wrong after the second game vs Holy Cross. It was prettty pathetic... errors across the infield besides third base. I agree that the hitting by both teams was superb... And what was Conner doing in the bottom of the 7th? Single by Fogle to lead off, Roberts comes up and doesnt bunt! Why??!! Roberts is a strong bunter and would have easily moved Fogle over. Instead, Roberts gets out. Liechty smashes a double down the line. They intentionally walk Ryle to load the bases. Then the Cougars cant push a run across... Dumb coaching IMO. But its still early!

Conner did indeed win that game against Holmes this past Tuesday, 8-2... It must have been posted incorrectly. However, Holmes is a decent team with some quality players and definately on the rise..

Game was played at Meiken, Conner obtained the lead in the first and never looked back. Freese and Simpson kept the Indians in check for all 7, I believe Johnson started for Holy Cross and lasted around 4. The second baseman came in after that.... The young Cougars continue to throw strikes and play excellent defense. The bats also came alive tonight, I believe Liechty, Brake, and Ryle had multiple RBI in this one. Conner is now 4-1 and will play these same Holy Cross Indians tommorrow in Hebron :lol::eyeonyou:

. Yes, you are correct in your interpretation of my previous comment. I guess being consistent is all you can ask for at this level in regard to umpires. However when a catcher is set up on the outer part of the plate and reaches further outside to receive a called "strike," and when a fastball bounces on the plate and is called a "strike," I begin to wonder. But hey, that's just my opinion... Sorry for the complaining this early, I'm sure it will get better :lol:

I too was puzzled by some of Beigers decisions. Thompson didn't start in the field and then comes into pitch? neither team had there top 9 out there..Roberts, Conner's senior ss, wasn't there. Dunn pitched excellent. The ump behind the plate for this game was pathetic imo. Both ways, his strikezone was an absolute joke. But I guess that's just part of it.:popcorn:

Final from Hebron. Albrecht goes 6 innings for the Cougars, Blake Maines closed it out.. Hunter Dunn started for Cooper and then Thompson finished it out. Both of Conner's runs were scored off Thompson in the 4th. Liechty led off with a single, Ryle hit a RBI double and would later score. Well pitched and solid defensive game for both teams. Conner is now 2-0 on the year after defeating Highlands 16 to 9 on Friday.

I personally saw Goe throw at a WKU showcase early last fall and the stadium radar gun was in use while he was pitching. He topped out at 86-87 and was consistenly around 84... He has a sharp breaking ball and above average control. Great Kid.

Yes, the only technical called was against Robinson in the third quarter. The NCC defense was focused in on him and he wasnt having his way like he did early. He is a great player... HM is correct, I vividly remember an instance when Flesch got to the rim, double clutched to avoid Giesler's block attempt and got nailed across the head and hit the ground.. No call. Only Flesch and Robinson came to play last night, the result clearly shows it...

I would have to agree with you HM. Problem is, usually it's only one (maybe two) that are on each night. The others tend to just "disappear" on the court at times. I think Liechty has been playing better as of late, he needs to continue his current ways if this team want to be a threat in 33rd...

I'm guessing that something that we don't know may have sparked this whole situation. I wish Vance the best of luck at NCC, he's a good kid and a talented player.

Congrats to the Cougars!

I agree that Conner has a bright future on the hardwood... Unfortunately, their present team has been unable to beat Boone for quite some time. I see the Rebels and Brown being too much for the Cougars tonight. But who knows, maybe Coach Hicks has his team playing like they are capable of and if that's the case, Conner can beat anyone in NKY.

This one is gonna be a toss-up. Cooper, having recently picked up their 1st district win over Ryle, is clearly the hotter team. However, the boys in Hebron have stepped their game up a little bit as of late. This game is a must-win for both and I ultimately feel that the Cougars, playing at home, will come out on top..

Final from Hebron. Sounds like the Cougars showed up for this one, something they have failed to do many times so far this season...

The Cougars turned the ball over way too many times and shot the ball poorly from the free-throw line. Furthermore, the officiating out there was poor for both sides throughout the game, especially late in the 4th when Conner was up by a few points and trying to run the clock..

This one will be well worth the price of admission. I look for Thelan to have a impressive showing down low, the Cougars won't be able to handle him. However like Manny said, Conner's guards will decide the outcome of this one.. Conner 53 CovCath 50

Conner as a whole is going through major renovations and the gym portion of that project is complete. However, in my opinion, little was done to improve it. They added walkways on the second-level and also added new bleachers to the second-level. Conner's lockerroom is now new and from what I hear, very nice. Thats about it..
