  1. I'd go naked before I wore purple to the Pit. Though I may put on some so I can go to Price Hill Chili afterwards.
  2. I sat on the Elder side. They are very nice to Bluebird fans.:sssh:
  3. I watched the St. X game and Elder used Schroer primarily to set up a number of screens and slants that were very effective. When the receivers weren't there, Ramsey took off for an easy 10-15. It was frustrating to watch from an X point of view. They will pull the same tricks Friday and stay on the field a long long time, IMO. It's a game of matchups and Moe's line dictated the outcome of that one. Hopefully the Birds line will step up and do the same in the Pit. It's a tall order for the Bluebird defense but they do have the Weinrich factor.
  4. I personally think that the Birds will look, offensively speaking, similar to the 1st quarter of the University Christian game. Elder will absorb the clock like a sponge, Houli and co. will see the field sparingly and will need to make every possession count.....the pressure on Houli will, unlike UC, be sustained throughout the contest. Biggest, most anticipated game of the 2013 season.
  5. Houliston is the best passer I've ever seen play high school football.
  6. The offensive and defensive lines of Highlands will dictate the outcome. It will mean the difference between a close win or a 3 td loss Friday night.
  7. Depends on if Hope is healthy. They'll need every bit of a healthy Hope.
  8. I think Elder will stuff Harris and the Birds only hope is through the air. The Bulldogs got good penetration tonight and pressured Houliston which scares me. The Elder D line is much much better than the Holmes D line. I predict a long night for Houliston.
  9. Not sure if I agree with that statement. I think 21's passing will only get better but is not ready for the big time yet.
  10. The KHSAA needs to do something about this. Holmes will suffer like Harrison as Beau shoots for 400 in a half.
  11. I'm predicting either 35-14 or 42-7 in a couple weeks.
  12. Moeller apparently won the battle in the trenches. This is the key to defeating the Panthers. It's a tough sell to say the Bluebird lines are equivalent to Moe's. I see a three touchdown difference between these two teams come late October.
  13. And what happens if the Birds O line is unable to stifle the pass rush?
  14. Agree 100%. X stacked the box and Ramsey made them pay dearly with an excellent passing attack. A lot of screens/slants for 5 here 5 there. When the pass wasn't there, he tucked it and ran for 10. Birds will have to hope for Elder to get some penalties/ 3rd and long situations. I also agree with QRyche, ultimately this game will be won in the trenches. Whoever wins this battle, wins the game. Elder's D line is huge and they protect Ramsey very well.
  15. I just think they'll need a flawless offensive performance to keep this one in check....And that's a tall order against Elder at the Pit.
  16. I watched the Elder/St. Xavier game and was very impressed with the Panthers. They can burn you a number of different ways on offense with Schroer running, Ramsey keepin', or Ramsey passing. They chew lot's of clock with their offense too. I know Holmes is next week but.... Consider this a preview. Can the Birds contain Schroer? If not, the Panthers will control the time of possession and wear out the defense. Can the defense get to Ramsey? X had a difficult time getting to him and when they did, he ran around them. Can the line protect Houliston when he does see the field? The answer to these questions will determine the outcome.
  17. How bout that punt into the stands? Took a couple blue hairs out.......Coach must have had a talk with him afterwards cuz the next punt was booted into the Bluebird football team. instead.
  18. agreed.....at least against non existent defenses like Harrison County's.
