  1. Then it could be one the best battles in the history of the programs.
  2. Bird fans can gauge the challenge JC poses when they play Ashland who lost to NCC by 11.
  3. Lex Cath beat Bryan Station by a touchdown. Birds had the clock running in the 2nd qtr.
  4. Birds have shown they can handle speed with minimal damage. I doubt Boyle is as fast as some of the University Christian/JH/PT players.
  5. Alot of Bird fans pucker up when any team is within 2td's after the half.
  6. Boyle, Johnson Central, a healthy Cov. Cath, or even Lex Cath; Which poses the toughest challenge? I'm not sure how the playoff system layout will be or who is hosting who, but home field advantage would be nice deep into the playoffs. Johnson Central looks decent as does Boyle. The Boyle/Lex Cath matchup this coming friday should put alot in perspective.
  7. Oh, I think I remember you telling me this over the weekend. I get confused b/c conventional wisdom tells a person that the true backup would come in for Houli. :thumb:
  8. I would play the starters for a quarter, get a commanding lead and turn it over to the backup quarterback and other JV the rest of the game. Our backup needs some reps throwing the ball. If Houli goes down, we'd be in a pickle, IMO.
  9. To the Colonel faithful, You've played both Moeller and Highlands. Would Highlands compete with Mo?
  10. Highlands will just keep getting better as the year progresses. If these two meet up again, even with a healthy CCH, it would probably be a closer game but still a Bluebird victory.
  11. I thought CCH did an admirable job of pressuring Houliston today. I saw a team who simply lost their starting qb. The receivers were open. The passes came up short for the backup. I'm assuming Wagner would have connected on many of those passes and the outcome would have been much different. Certainly not a running clock. There is nothing I saw that was wrong at CCH. Those young kids will take their lumps now, but in the next couple years should hold their own against the Birds. Just think if the Birds lost Houliston, it would be a pretty evenly matched game, IMO.
  12. Someone whispered in my ear that the Bluebirds who played Bryan Station are going to show up Saturday in Park Hills.:sssh:
  13. Anything can happen at this one, but a healthy Highlands should have it's way with the beat up Colonels. It may not be as high scoring if the Colonels can chew up some clock. To me, this is their only hope to win.
  14. More like a table at Oktoberfest. Now, back to the thread topic.....
  15. Are you the the self proclaimed policeman of Bluebird BGP threads? Although I do not agree with Blue whatever his name is, he's still entitled to his opinion regardless of whether it gels with the trio. Just Sayin'.....really?
  16. Not sure about the last two games b/c I wasn't there to watch nor do I know who's been out on the defensive side of the ball, but......It's alarming on paper to see a Bluebird D give up the points they've given up the past couple weeks. Are they porous? Don't know all the deets, but if healthy, it's reason for concern. Their pass defense is suspect, but CCH won't threaten them with the pass. CCH's only chance at a win is clock control. The Birds offense will mop them up if given the chance. period. If CCH controls the clock they will keep collateral damage to a minimum but there is no way they will beat the Birds this year. If no clock management is implemented, the Bluebirds could very well have a running clock. It all depends on the Bluebird defense. If they cannot stop a limp offense like CCH, it cannot be reasonably inferred that they're the number 2 team in the Commonwealth. That would be an affront to the other respected top tier teams that represent consistently each week.
  17. Offense will have its way with Cov. Cath. The defense will get scored on. I say 56-28 Birds.
  18. Looks like the offense better keep putting up big numbers.
  19. If Dalton is considered one of the better qb's to play at the professional level, then this doesn't say much about the talent pool of qb's coming out of the college ranks. This joker threw more balls into the sidelines and stands than on the field. I've seen qb's at the high school level that were more precise with their targets than this guy. Just another mediocre Kitna type qb to satisfy the majority of "Billy Bengal" fans out there.
  20. I kinda like the high powered offense of Highlands coupled with a defense that gives up points.....I don't like to see a porous defense but it does prevent running clocks. Hopefully the offense gets 4 qtrs of play Saturday.
