The cops came and then the little principal came in and stirred the pot even more. I kept waiting for one in the back of the head at any minute. Ended up moving before they carted me out in cuffs....not good PR for my kid as she progresses on into middle school.

Folks were packed in like sardines in the shade by the concession area, including my wife and our friends. I sat in the blazin' heat like the man that I am amd cheered the Birds on to victory. As an aside, I even witnessed a fracas between Highlands #1 fan and some UC faithful.......The result? #1 fan didn't have a chance.:isurrender::lol:

As to the first quote, I'd agree. You put several of those UC kids in the Bluebird system and they'd be absolute stars. No question they had some very talented kids on that UC team.

Not sure, LN. How's ticket sales lookin' for this game for the folks that may be on the fence? I secured my season pass which I'm assuming is valid. Are we projecting a sellout? Sure hope for a duplicate of the X game......was pretty electric.

This is quite a big game for Dale and the Birds to stick their necks out for the season opener.........a mid season matchup where they can have some game footage would be ideal, but to go in against a team blindfolded is risky, imo. You can bet UC has the advantage on the prep side for this one. There is plenty of tape on the Birds and even a youtube vid of the recent scrimmage. Good news is Weinrich adapts extremely well and if things are shaky at the start, you can bet the Birds will adjust. I see them winning the second half. I keep thinking how big of an initiation this will be for Houliston. I'm sure he'll handle himself very well.

Are the highlights from the state championship team? If so, how can you compare this year's team. Not discounting what you guys are saying, but I read on one particular forum that these guys were voted least likely to repeat as state champs. Now, to me, comparing last year's team to this year's team is like "apples/oranges". Does the coaching staff get a game tape of last year's squad or do they get a scrimmage video from this year? If the former, how can you prepare for a team that could be totally different from last year? Blowout win or no, most fans will still have no idea how Highlands will stack up to the rest of Kentucky until they play another Ky. opponent.

Not sure if I'm allowed to say, so I won't. I hope the "adjustments" work. I'm sure Dale knows what's best.

I think the Birds win, but I'm not sold on the "adjustments". Birds 28-21.

A lot to discuss here in regards to how Highlands will handle the supposed speed of Christian after last weeks scrimmage loss to Trinity. It will be interesting to see how they approach their goal line offense, the pass defense, and how Houliston will perform in his first start. He sounded very impressive against Trinity. Hope the Birds get healthy and make a statement this coming Sat. I look for them to blow this game wide open in the 2nd half once the first game butterflies disappear. What do you think we'll see out of this one?
