Holmes Hayes and Grey played great games, Congrats to Holmes on a big win! Fangman did shoot lights out but sprained ankle in the third quarter and played through it. Though young man but wasn't enough tonight! Best game of the year by all the B W Tigers!
-
Walter have you even seen this kid play this year!
-
Tigers, bottom line turn the ball over way too much. Youth, with not enough experience against varsity presses. Better since they moved Fangman to point guard, example Holy Cross second time around should have beat them. Tigers are very young and that will lead too many turnovers, which leads to many layups for opposing teams.

Fangman was closely guarded all night! He was on the move, hitting shots all over the court. What range 3 of his 9 3's were beyond NBA 3's and one at the end of the half was few steps in from half court!

Bellevue vs Beechwood predictions
Allen replied to hhsbirds2010's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Ummm lets see Nussbaum, Cruse or Fangman! Better question is who will stop Fangman? Along with Fangman you have Cruse, Maus, Nussbaum and McKennzie! If Bellevue stops one any one of these starters, any one of them will be in for a big night! It will be Beechwood by 20! -
Dilts left his starters in & pressed through 4th qtr. last year after Menefee had subbed out entire roster. This year when the same oppurtunity is there for Menefee, he takes the high road. Good for him and Bellevue for a great, classy payback.

That would be no but if a team does it will be Bellevue.

Holmes is a 5 or 6-A High School and Beechwood is a 1-A High School so Beechwood doesn't have the same draw of athletes to choose from. I think you will find those three Fangman, Voeke and Nussbaum as athletic as any 3 kids from any High School around. Before you say anymore, wait until you see them play this year. Nussbaum (6'1")and Voeke (6')are coming from Football so it will take them a week or two to get their basketball legs. Fangman (6' 3") has worked all summer on his strength and conditioning and it shows big time. I do admit I haven't seen Holmes play this year! I guess we will find out soon enough.

The tigers struggled breaking Fleming's press the first half. Tiger's dominated the second half as Fangman scored 20 of his 30 points in the second half. Tiger's were without Nussbaum Cruise and Voeke. I believe that Nussbaum, Cruise and Voeke will be 3 of their 5 starters with Fangman and Maus.

I think you have seriously over estimated Holmes this year. I think Voeke, Nussbaum and Fangman are as athletic as anyone on Holmes team. Having them in the back court, Beechwood will have more than enough skill and athleticism to break Holmes press. However they must have 2 of the 3 on the floor at all times. If only one is out there I would agree Beechwood will struggle with ball handling against Holmes.

Bellevue should be improved. I'm not sure they can contend with Beechwood for the conference title, but finishing toward the top is not a stretch. I know they were busy this summer.

I was referring to the best shooter in Northern Kentucky hands down.

I have personally coach watched these boys and coached many of these boys over the years. They have some great athletes, time will tell how the do this year. I just think they have a lot to prove. They lost the core of their team the last 4 years and I believe we are kidding ourselves if you think they will not have a down year after loosing so much talent. -
That is a bold statement that I think many would disagree with.

I believe the Johnson's both were playing in Ohio as freshman. Home grown? -
I will have to add, the 2003 team was one of the weakest Highlands teams of the decade...and they still made it to the state championship. While Boyle had what was probably the best team they've ever had or ever will have. Just food for thought.

Obviously you have not seen Fangman play lately. He plays great defense and blocks many shots. Over the summer he lead both AAU teams he played for in scoring against top talent. Fangman is much more a complete player than the others you mentioned in front of him. -

Bellevue suprised me with how well they handled CCD. There was a kid about 6-6 or 6-7 and was built like a linebacker, I figured he would man-handle the tigers. D.J. Slater from Bellevue played him very tough and the Tiger's won easily.
