The other thread said Fangman had 45 with 43 of them in the first 3 quarters.

^The kid is a player. Would be scary if he played for Dixie, Boone, Holmes, NCC or CCH. Great moxie.

45 pts is impressive for Fangman but not so much if you lose by 20 and give up 88.

This was a tight game until about the 3 minute mark in the 3rd quarter. Boone went to a trapping zone on Fangman and no one else would step up for Beechwood. Kind of the same theme the entire year. The big guys for the Tigers seem to disappear in the big games. Youth for ya I guess.

 

Qryche I do not care if the Tigers gave up 150 points the game Fangman played was by far the best performance I have seen this year, and maybe for several years before that. If Shumate let him he could easily lead the state in scoring. Agaisnt the DIII teams if he played more than a quarter and a half a game before being pulled he would put up 40 a night. He scores well against the others schools even though they put their best defender or defenders on him. Not a team in the state this kid would not start on!

Hard to discredit a kids effort when his team didn't help him out. IMO 45 points against a top 5 team in the region is impressive no matter what the final score. The Tigers didn't have anyone else who could score last night, and Boone Co. knew it so they were in Fangman's pocket all night and he still had 45. To me that's impressive. Sure it dissapointing for the Tigers to take one on the chin, but I don't think that makes Fangman's night any less impressive.

If he were on a team like Dixie, there is no way he is getting close to 45 points. This team is a great fit for him and it allows him the opportunity to shoot and shoot and score. He will beat some teams by himself in that situation.

Looking in todays paper, Cruse is averaging over 16 pts a game for the Tigers. So Fangman is not the only option for them. Just depends if Cruse decides he wants to play on any given night!

It doesn't matter what the final score was or the margin of defeat from a regional contender, it was a great accomplishment for this kid. You probably never accomplished anything like this....admit that you're just jealous.

You drop 45 on anybody that is a pretty good day at the office. The disappointing thing for Beechwood is that once again they give up a ton of points. Shumate is a good coach and he is probably going crazy with their inability to guard. The thing I have always liked about Shumates Beechwood teams is that they were always pretty solid on both sides of the floor. He needs his younger players to start buying into the concept of guarding somebody.

Fangman was closely guarded all night! He was on the move, hitting shots all over the court. What range 3 of his 9 3's were beyond NBA 3's and one at the end of the half was few steps in from half court!
