  1. Good coaches find a way to win. Good coaches do it by building kids self estem and coaching in a positive light. I think coaches should always and be a good example for the young men they coach. I think coach Russell will do a excellent job with the Camels! Good Luck!
  2. Yes thanks "4pointplay" Cameron Haynes had a great tourney. The Kentucky Cats went undefeated in the Midwest Hoops Memorial Day Tournament. This is a great group of kids that play hardnosed defense and un-selfish team basketball. Despite loosing Connor Crowley 6' 2", Josh Graff 6' 5" and Don Cheatum 6' 6" to injuries they have bonded together as a close group. "Sportsguy" Tyler Fangman played very well after getting his wisedom teeth pulled a week earlier. His shot was a little off the normal but made some great assist, he did great job getting several steals and rebounds. Drew Baker (Cov Cath), Fangman (Beechwood) and Cory Cruse (Beechwood) all had nice shot blocks. Baker led this group with 5 blocks in the championship. Nice to see this whole group of all Northern Kentucky boys playing great basketball.
  3. Midwest Hoops had a Memorial day Tourney. Showtime, Cincy Bulls, and the Kentucky Cats are in pool play in the U17 tournament. I caught the Cats game, they beat Showtime by double digits. Cats are a young team that gets better every weekend! Drew Baker had a impressive dunk. Cameron Hines Number #2 had a super game putting up 24 on Showtime! Cats went undeafed in pool play beat Cincy Bulls and showtime by double digits.
  4. The whole Team Ky played a great game against a much larger Truth team. The game I saw was against the Truth I think Number (33)? Dont know all the kids names on that team yet. Number 33 had around 16 points not sure exactly. He also had several steals and blocks. I was impressed with 2 kids from GRC they played well and my grandson too.
  5. I dont get to see many games, just when I go watch my grandson play. I hope to see them soon maybe my grandson will play against them. Never know!
  6. Honestly have not heard too much about that team sorry. No disrespect intended. So they are local? So why travel to Knoxville with great competition right here in NKY? Must have a great sponsor.:thumb:
  7. I agree you if Team Ky gets their big men back. A few post players that will add to the bench giving them fresh legs will be huge. Only having 2 subs they wore down in later games. The Truth only lost to DSAS by 4 and had 2 technicals that possibly cost them that game. Finals Club Ohio vs. DSAS. All the top local teams minus Shinning Stars were at the Knights tournament. Wow I got to see alot of great players and teams. DSAS, Truth, Showtime, XBA, Dayton Flyers, Team Ky, Club Ohio etc. Looking forward to seeing these teams plus Shining Stars next week end at UC. Congrats to the players and teams great week-end in Northern Kentucky for U17 basketball.
  8. What about other regions? Such as the 9th, 8th etc. how did they only pick those regions?:idunno:
  9. Yes, sorry I was thinking of the Juniors only!
  10. I agree Cheatum should be on this list! Coaches All-Region team there were only 5 Juniors and 1 Sophomore voted to it from the 9th region. Any list should start with those 6 players.
  11. IMO A good place to start this list is with the Juniors voted to the Northern Kentucky Coaches Association All Star Team! Ryle: Stauffer All Star voted by the coaches Covcath: Thelen All Star voted by the coahes Newcath: Giesler ALL Star voted by the coaches Lloyd: Cheatum ALL Star voted by the coaches Beechwood: Fangman All Star voted by the coaches Conner: Flesh, Hodges, Robinson Boone: Montgomery, Brown Holmes: Rice Holy Cross: Burger Dixie: Pike, Hatton, Trammel Cooper: Bradley Highlands: Stewart
