  1. Can't imagine he would leave South Laurel but if this is true everyone else may be playing for Second.
  2. Well deserved...Rupp 4 years in a row and culminated with a state championship! Good for you Mr. Justice...Oh, Sorry...Mr. Basketball!
  3. Agreed. When you still bring back 3 all-region players and Purvis...you're pretty darn good! :ylsuper:
  4. Per the KHSAA website Bryan Station and Dunbar are open.
  5. Many JV coaches have a hand in making and implementing practice plans. This allows the varsity coach to watch the practice from an overview and work with his starting group. Disagree that they are just a game coach.
  6. I've heard from a good source that he did apply at Grant County.
  7. I would say this will be a job filled from within.
  8. Faulkners. Lets not forget there were two of them! I still would have to say Shelby Valley was too big all around for Elliot. Throw Timmy Knipp as a senior on there and I go with Elliot (but he was only a sophomore).
  9. True coaches on the floor! Loved watching them play and the coach never get out of his seat except for when THEY called a timeout...special players!
  10. I can't see Coach Humphrey telling a kid his size that he wanted him shooting more threes. This has to be a rumor. Regional tournament showed that Zollo shooting threes was not the most beneficial for GRC.
  11. Any new updates on this process? I saw on the KHSAA website that they are hiring a football coach too...I would imagine hiring the football coach would be priority #1.
  12. Love how Justice plays! He would fit the style of Louisville way better than UK, see Preston Knowles smaller but more polished. I like his choice as is!
  13. $24 for all my Soft Serve Ice Cream, 5 minutes shaking off my cold freeze headache, and $30 a month for the gym membership...having an Ice Cream at the state tourney while taking in the greatest show in hoops...Priceless!
  14. Anyone else looking forward to taking down some Ice Cream Cones at Rupp during the sweet 16? I'm going for two per day...8 for me! What's your number?
  15. Keith Griesser would certainly be a great pick up for Dunbar. He has taken Montgomery County to the 10th region tournament 3 years in a row and in 2007-2008 he took the team to the finals (only to lose to state champs Mason County). He has a great background with a National Championship at Georgetown College and a state championship with Scott County.
  16. Who was he an assistant with? Frank Watson? Eddie Oakley? "Redd" Hutchison? Oakley and Hutchison were only there for 3 years or so each and I don't recall his name on Watson's staff so I'm trying to figure out who he was a longtime assistant with.
  17. Coach Biggs does a great job with his programs especially Pendleton and Ashland. Other thoughts: Champ Ligon from Bryan Station Edelin from North Oldham Keith Griesser from Montgomery County
  18. Just saw in the Lexington Herald Leader that Coach "Redd" Hutchinson has stepped down at Dunbar. This should cause a lot of interest throughout the state...2200 students and a good crop of talent. Name some Candidates.
  19. Guess they didn't specify who we will see.:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
  20. Up and comer! Lexington Christian lost out on a true player when they didn't use his services on the JV team his freshman year. Guess they didn't wanna ruffel any feathers of the kids/parents that had been there before him. Their loss is Scott Counties gain.
  21. By chances do you mean Brad Mefford 3 seasons, Bob Gibson (Athletic Director) 3 seasons, or Gene Kirk 20+ seasons? Doesn't seem like they have taken all the chances you think they have. With that said they may want to hire an experienced coach who had already shown he can do all these things but they may give a young coach the opportunity to prove he can do all the things you mentioned.
  22. Thanks for the correction. Got to know coach Hicks after he came to Scott County but thought it was a neat story line. Should have said give or take a year!:thumb:
  23. Good story line in the first round game when the Scott County Cardinals meet the Corbin Redhounds at Rupp. Pietrowski was a sophomore playing for Hicks when he took a Corbin team to state in '92. Tony is a great guy and has done a great job with the Corbin team for multiple years now. Good luck to both but I think the Cards will have too much.
  24. I'm not gonna say that Justice didn't have the easier route but he definetily gets to play in front of many of the voters of the award...that's gotta help his chances.
