A little bit confusing. If Ryle is the team to beat why wouldn't Boone need to learn how to beat Ryle. I am not picking either just interested in the thought.

I agree with you CM and specifically looking at the teams schedules, wins, losses etc. i saw no reason for the shifts but it is really just fun for us fans, these discussions and anticipation of the district and regional tourneys when it matters most.

My bad. Of course i made a mistake as i was looking at the boys. Anderson County is second in the region in the girls poll.

Imagine that a parent from newcath said they didn't play well. My guess is the officals were terrible as well.

If both teams play up to their potential this should be a really close game. If Ryle is on they will win but i will have to go with Sacred Heart because they look real solid and will not beat themselves.

We never like to say "what if" because they usually go both ways so no excuses at all. This time of year probably every team has someone with a little sickness. Whiteside is usually in a reserve roll backing up the post however she is coming along very well for the Bearcats, a 6' athletic sophomore has only played basketball for two seasons. The bearcats are hoping she continues to improve. It was a great game for her.

I agree that both teams looked nervous but i guess they can be forgiven for that. After all it is "Hallowed Ground". Anderson was led by Whiteside & Cann with 17 and 11 points. Mckee had been sickly and did not start the game and played limited minutes.

My guess is Boone County will not be finely tuned either being this early in the season but i suppose those excuses can only apply to WV depending on the outcome of the game. I predict WV will get it handed to them!

I don't see things being a whole lot different in the 8th. Last year there were 5 to 6 teams capable of winning it. I think this is the case this year. The region was young as a whole and i think most of the top teams will be improved just from experience alone. With that being said I am picking Anderson to win it again. Overlooked in previous post they certainly have more than two players but thats okay some like flying a little under radar. Down "south" in AC land all we can say is "Get Your Popcorn". We (The Fans) are ready to get it on!!!

I would not call Yeast an unsung hero, just a hero, however an 8th grader lead the team in every statistical category (scoring,rebounding, steals, assists, free throw, field goal percentage, three point shooting) except blocks which was a sophomore. Yeast's role was vital to the success last season but mainly she "potty trained for the future".

Do i detect "excuses" again? Last line is correct though it should be very intersting in eighth as well as fun. While the season is still months away it looks as though Anderson will be starting 3 freshmen, maybe more, and the top nine includes four freshmen and an eighth grader. Still not veterans however the girls are now out of their diapers and the future in Bearcat land looks bright but lets enjoy today.

Its "skeery" up there and those little Anderson girls don't want to be "skeered" again.

With such and eye for talent you should consider coaching. By the way what an ugly baby!!

I am not knowledgabe of the recruiting "rules" but as i understand a college is only allowed one contact prior to a player entering their Junior season. If this is correct how do these colleges make offers to the player on the first and only contact? I read on here all the time about these young players with offers from several schools. Just curious.

Yeah they would have never lost without being fatigued!! Too bad they had so many more games than the other teams.

I was at the game and was totally netural to the outcome. To me the only thing that seemed to occur on the last play was that the refree did not appear to be decisive on the call. However later in the week at my hotel i was approached by one of the refrees who asked me my thoughts on the call and i told him just that. The refree then informed me that they were wearing devices on their belt, (which i did see). These devices were there to stop the clock upon blowing of the whistle. The ref also told that when the whistle blew there was no time on the clock. Therefore game over...Don't shoot the messenger. Now concerning rockcastle team i agree that they were the classiest group of young ladies i have ever seen. My daughter was sitting by my side and i pointed out thier hustle and sportsmanship. The fans of Rockcaslte were quite impressive as well. What i saw was a few of the Scott players making gestures up to the fans as they were walking off the court. Not saying anyting here!!!! I see both sides but as usual there is often two sides. For me personally I think it was great game. I can not "dog" the refs either. Its a tough job but i did feel for the Rock girls but again they are a classy group of young ladies. I hope my daugher carries herself as well!!!! What more can i say?

8th grader Makenzie Cann also made the all-region team for Anderson.

You are right that WV has a good defense however i think Anderson if more verstaille inside and outside. I predict Anderson vs. Shelby in final but thats why they play the game.

Sounds like everyone is from the same area pretty much! While most of you would not know because you have not been watching them play for 2 years(at the Jr. level of course) those Anderson "Rooty Poots" are pretty darn good. All i can say is get your popcorn.
