  1. Congratulations to WV from the Anderson Camp. Go represent the 8th well.
  2. I think Anderson has alot of upside potential though girls can get reach thier potential at around 10th grade unless they work hard at their game. Anderson will learn how to play aganist the top teams by adjusting to defenses quicker etc. Also they can get pushed around by older girls just because they are not real strong yet. They will improve tremendously if for this reason alone. Also the guards get into a little trouble because they are young, but they have alot of "basketball sense". They will get stronger, being able to drive and dish out to a good shooting group. The girls are competitors and they seem to rise to the occassion when its on the line. So i think the future is extremely bright at AC.
  3. Anderson County raced out to a 9-0 lead and never looked back.
  4. Not sure why Grayson County has not been ranked in the top 20 this year. They have a great team.
  5. Agree. I cannot see anyone other than E-town/Marion in the finals but it has been an interesting year.
  6. Anderson's Cann set the single game three record with 8 this season. Had two other games with 7. She also became the all-time three point leader for Anderson as well as a freshman.
  7. "Jaded" did you just curse me? Kidding. I have no idea what your point is here; i thought you were defending a player in your first post now it seems like you're saying someone should not be on the list. I guess my main point was just because you average 17 points and 6 rebounds or whatever your magic number would be, stats do not automatically put you on the all region team. I don't know who is on the list as well i was "just saying".
  8. You have to cut off at some point sportslady. You have mentioned two already that should be on there. Not that i need an answer to this question but i think you have to ask yourself which two comes off the list to make room. Also i'm guessing most of us BGPers can only watch so many games anyway. I personally think the stat thing gets way too much emphasis. IMO the players on the teams that win the most games should get slighted favorably because after all this is a team sport and after all this list is to determine the best players. One team can have more than one very good player and the stats may not be as good as say a team who loses every game with one high stat player. So as CM says must be some subjective decisions made and i guess so goes life.
  9. Anderson appears to be gaining momenteum after a mid-season line up shake up winning their last six games with good wins over GRC, WoodfordCo, and Owen tonight. Anderson really cranked up the defense in a hard fought game. Looks like they may not be ready to hand over that eighth region crown just yet. These young girls are impressive in big game situations.
  10. There is a saying that hard work will beat talent when talent does not work hard. Sara is the perfect example of what happens when talent works hard. Congrats to her. My daughter is a freshman basketball player and last year we were watching her play together and i pointer Sara out as an example of how a player works hard and encourages her team mates. What more can i say but thanks for being a role model.
  11. Alot of smack talk. But i guess it is hard to be humble when things are going well. IMO E-town would not be a statement game. I would have to agree that Rock is looking good to win state and in fact if they did i would be happy because there is not a harder working, class act in high school basketball. However Rock, like E-town, have not played the best teams in Ky yet!!!! Take a look around the state and see what has happened to the other "unbeatable" teams.
  12. Shock you better watch Coach Fookes (Is that her name). She is a sneaky one. She might throw a game here and there to get you over confident so she can drop the hammer at regional tourney.
  13. Oh i think BC just threw off, setting them up for the regional tourney..Regional tourney boone by 10.
  14. General oponion seems to be stats are over-rated yet i see Rebecca Greenwell's name come up alot as the best player in the state. I say there is at least a dozen players i have seen play this year that could put up those numbers in the OC offense. To me the best player does what it takes to make the team the best it can be. Please understand i am not saying Greenwell does not do that. I have only seen OC play twice this year and i think you have to watch really close for several games in order to determine if a player is doing what is best for her team. If a player is not doing what is best for the team, it is the coach's issue not the player. Having said all of that Greenwell has to be in the discussion for best player in the state.
  15. Retropop not sure about the "woofing" comment. It sounds to me like everyone is saying region is wide open which i agree. If your ready to "woof" feel free. Woofing can turn to tears pretty quick this year.
  16. Underpar you can eliminate 7 of the 16 teams that will be in Diddle from playing on saturday right now? Coach Noble must have you on her advistory counsel!
  17. Usually a pretty good shooting team Anderson was 3 for 25 from 3 point range and 11 for 30 on 2 point field goals. Ownen's zone looked to take away the inside game. The outside shots were contested but not overly contested Anderson just could not shoot the ball today. I do not see this as a huge upset at all. Owen played well, Anderson played hard just how it goes some days.
  18. Sounds to me like a downright conspiracy going on. Yep thats what you got if the officials won't make it tougher on them then easier. How in the world can a 9th region team win state? It does make me wonder though....could the other 15 region officials be calling the game different so the 9th would be at a disadvantage; a larger conspiracy may be in play. Better keep an eye on this one.
  19. Agree Shock it is all fun. Thanks for waking us up as the season heats up. I agree with the girls bball in ky. Good luck down the stretch and i hope you beat everyone but my team but that could not happen unless it is at Diddle and if so i am a happy camper!!!
  20. That one eye patch must be rose colored. It don't hide all of the truth just half of it. Not kicking on Ryle they have an awesome team and are capable of beating anyone however the tough schedule drum is not worth beating. If you look at the other top 10 teams they average some 6 or 8 games aganist top 20 teams. And concerning NCC06 he/she might have that other eye patch on. Beating Boone, NCC, NDA and St. Henry get you a birth in the top 10? That Ohio River water getting tainted with pharmaceuticals?
  21. Well we don't want all these Ryle fans to get too bored so what about this tough schedule. Understand i don't keep up with Florida basketball so i will keep it in Kentucky. How many top 20 teams have they played? How many more to play?
  22. Anderson is starting 3 freshmen and an eighth grader...still not seasoned veterans and they have been "tinkering" with the point guard rotation buying a little time at this spot so that is part of the inconsistency. I think they will have it ironed out by tournament time. Shhh. just don't tell the girls they are still young, they don't know!
  23. Marion County just went through a little bit of a tough stretch. You don't want to play them in state tourney.
