I'd have to bump Marion county out of number 6 and replace them with Ryle. That is not the same Marion county team of a year ago.

Marion County just went through a little bit of a tough stretch. You don't want to play them in state tourney.

Gotta agree with that. Saw Marion County lose two games in the Lexington Tourney. They slept-walked through a game and a half of those losses, including the first half against Boone County. Then they woke up! And Boone County was fortunate to win in OT. Anyone who thinks Marion County is easy, or less dangerous than last season, is in for a shock if they go against them.

 

They are an extremely talented bunch that sometimes may lose focus because of that talent. When they come ready to play there is no one in the state that they can't beat on any given night. If Makala Epps plays an entire game like she played the second half against Boone County I don't think anyone beats them. But again there is that big word.........."if"!

Idon't think you can make a call as to whom I have or have not watched play, unless you're my wife, and she is in my living room at this moment:) It gets a little old when I read these rankings and my Lady Raiders keep getting disrespected. Boone is close, but there aren't many teams in the Top 20 who have played a schedule like Ryle has played, and to be 11-3 and be ranked outside of the Top 10 is slighting them. Just my own humble opinion, of course:)

For Ryle not to be in the top 5 or 6 is beyond belief with the schedule they have played so far and to be 11-3 against some pretty tough competition.

I just took a look at their schedule. I can't speak about the Florida competition and out of state competition doesn't usually count in most in-state polls anyway. Other than that, I only see 1 top 20 KY team played so far and Ryle lost. It also looks as if most of the teams that Ryle beat, that are historically good (LCA/LexCath...etc), have 6-8 losses each. That being said, I may be missing something so I need your help. I'm open-minded so if you show me the numbers/proof of a brutal schedule...I'll certainly buy-in to it (I'm a visual guy).

 

FTR...historically, NKY rarely gets respect from these polls. It just so happens that some high profile players have helped draw some attention.

Wait till Ryle gets through NCC, Boone, Notre Dame, and St. Henry and if they win all of those games then maybe you can be talking top 10.

I've looked at all of the ranked teams schedules , either the BGP rankings or the Courier- Journals and I have yet to find a team who has payed a better schedule. Boone beat Marion Co. in Lexington and while that is an impressive win they lost ugly to 2 Cincinnati Schools. Ryle lost ugly to Colerain. I don't see the E'Towns, Rockcastle County, Mercy, Sacred Heart playing anyone of the 3 teams Ryle played in Florida winning 2 out of 3. But. as a lot of people have stated, other than bragging rights for their crazy fans, like me , they don't mean squat. The only teams that are remembered are the ones who go to Diddle. As it should be.
