Six weeks in, who is over-achieving? Underachieving? Biggest surprises?

 

Cooper seems to be doing better.

 

Campbell is a big surprise for me.

 

I haven't followed Conner much. Their record is surpsrising but they may be young.

When looking at overachievers and underachievers, you also have to look at the team's strength of schedule. Just because a team is doing better or has a winning record does not mean that they have improved if they do not schedule teams that they can compete with. Conner's record is surprising I agree, but he plays a very competitive schedule which will help him later.

The strength of a team's schedule is very important in rating players and teams. If a team has a weak schedule it only hurts them and doesn't really allow for improvement.

No real suprises to me. Boone. Ryle, NCC, St. Henry leading the pack. Boone and Ryle both play brutal schedules. Dixie and Campbell Co. are having nice seasons but, I too, question the strength of their schedules. Things should get interesting with all the Holiday Tournaments over and teams getting into District and Region play. Notre Dame is still an enigma to me. I still feel they will be contenders at tourney time. Ryle has to learn how to beat Boone. Ryle is still the team to beat in the 9th this year. Tons of talent and athleticism.

A little bit confusing. If Ryle is the team to beat why wouldn't Boone need to learn how to beat Ryle. I am not picking either just interested in the thought.

Puzzles me how Ryle is the team to beat when Boone beat Ryle three times last year? And won the Region.

IMO Boone was a much better team last year than this year. Ryle has basically the same lineup as last year's team and is playing well. The 3 losses to Boone last year were all nailbiters, including the loss in the 9th Region finals. They need to figure out how to beat Boone and teams like Boone during crunch-time. No knock on Boone or any other team, just my opinion.

As a side note, all it takes too stir up the BGPers is to mention Ryle and Boone in the same thread.
