Lou. Holy Cross Cougars stole a page from their college brother from another mother; Washington State. Both "Cougars", and both spelling out the initials of their school(s) w/in their Cougar head. Style points granted.

They've had the paw for a long time; as in I can remember them using it back in the 80's. They've gone bt and the Green Bay "G" look for years. Dog, cat, doesn't matter to me. Then again, I've never understood why the Philadelphia style eagle wings are only used by teams that are "Eagles"; Falcons fly, Cardinals fly, Hawks fly, Ravens, etc. They all have wings. Lol

I understand all of that. Fully aware......played all through high school and college and coaching. I'm not for or against. Like everything out there; it all has it's purpose(s).

The big elephant in the room that it 90% (or more) of the equation. :lol2:

"Camp" used to have a "FUN" element to it. Get off the bus Sunday evening, practice one good time just your team, and then the rest of the week was either scrimmage against somebody every time you went out and/or Indy/Group time stuff fit in against other teams during practice. Haul off for 3-4 days just to go practice against yourself? Ehhhhhhh. I know, I know....."team bonding" and all of those other things, but the way some of these places are charging now for 3-4 days is a lot of coin for "team bonding" (as in the cost of a set of new uniforms/ a boat load of helmets and/or other equipment) is a bit high (especially at some of the universities). Once scrimmages got cut out; you started seeing more people fall off going to camp or so it seems? Two-A-Day's and Spring Practice..... Are what they are in the grand scheme of things IMO. Back the season up a week most definitely (last weekend of August) for reasons said above.

Hopefully whomever ends up losing out will be a "team player", and take on their new role...which seems it would be the case just from reading what's here. A wise man once told me (former HS QB, QB all through college, successful HS coach in KY) "If you're the 5th best offensive linemen; you start. If you're the 2nd/3rd best RB; you start. If you're a top 2-4 TE/WR; you start. If you're the 2nd best QB? You sit the bench. Learn to play & be ok with other positions." AKA, "Don't put all of your eggs in one basket." (**Not that any of that is earth shattering reality, but when you sit back-look at it in how it was said**)

I love them all (styles of play), but the pass (no pun intended) that "spread" teams get absolutely is comical these days (and, I get it...somewhat..it's what people see on tv). But, you're right and it's just not at PT. Go .500 or be absolutely horrid out of the "spread", and it's ok. Have those same results under center, old school Wing T, Wishbone, etc? All hell breaks loose. I even see it with good programs/teams in years; Go 8-4,10-2 out of the "spread"? Nothing said. Be "old school" and do that? Experts out the wazoo on how they "could've won", "been better", etc if said team had been running a different offense. They'll be just fine and then some IMO. (This post isn't directed towards you; I've had the same worry, but I'm really pulling for him to prove all those people wrong)

To my knowledge he wasn't; early-mid 60's. I think it's more towards the early side.

I'm a fan of this look. It's close to one of, if not my all time favorite UK look when Curry was there in the 90's. That blue/white look with a touch of black being used as the decals/number outline and black mask on a white helmet?! The only thing I'd change here is that the E is royal, but outlined in black. Same for the stripes down the helmet. That one is tough to beat. Oh, and it's Danville then everybody else.

All are correct about his background. He was at Fort Knox in the 80's and '90, and was obviously part of their state title teams. He then went to LaRue County in '91, and was part of their lone region title team. He stayed at LaRue through the '95 season & then went to Elizabethtown in 1996. He spent his time there both with the high school and middle school programs. He was with Jack Haskins in 2007 on their state runner up team before heading to Murray in 08 when he started his very successful tenure as the head coach of the Tigers.

Yezzir they were! That red on red w the yellow numbers (outlined in white) really popped, too.

Their helmets back up until the mid-late 90's before they went to this were the best (not that these are a good look). But Bullitt East used to have yellow instead of the vegas good look. With that they had white helmets with red masks. Along with that they had a red/yellow stripe (yellow middle, red on the outside) & EAST written in some cool, curisive script on the side.

Boone. I THINK. Chuck Smith was the one that brought it to Boyle when he took the job in '92. Boone had it before I believe.

He left to take a High School D.C. Position in Alabama. Solid senior group for them returning next year in some talent and numbers (7-8 of them will be 4 year starters bt Jaggers and Hatmaker's tenures). After that? The numbers really dip. Rural-county school. Ride the waves.

Good shot there. It is; I'll get a pic. Coach Gay obviously did a lot in his time at Adair from 2011-2015, and one of them was they more or less became the Oregon Ducks of KYHSFB. Lol I think his last year they had 16 uniform combinations.

The "oversized" logo was just a new thing the last couple years. I'll see if I can find it from 2011-2014. Another cool part about Adair's helmet is the stripe; you can't see it, but their helmet strip turns into the head of a spear on the front (or maybe back of the helmet)
