David Brausch has been hired as head football coach. Brausch won a state title with Lebanon in 1998 and has an overall record of 114-71. He is a graduate of Campbell County and Thomas More.

Former Amelia Ohio Coach?

Looks like this Kentucky native finally got his first Kentucky job. Brausch is coming from the head coaching position at Amelia in Ohio. Previously, he was an assistant at CAPE (OH), head coach at Lebanon (OH), head coach at Perkins (Sandusky, OH), head coach at Clermont North East (OH), assistant at Mount St. Joe University.

Wow. This might be a great hire. Certainly had the resume. Hope he can get the kids excited and build a great staff!

Sounds like an experienced, quality hire. In looking at Amelia's roster it appears he might be bringing a son that ought to be an impact player. At 6'0" and 186 lbs it appears he goes both ways at HB and LB, while also doing a little backup quarterbacking. Always good to have a coach's son playing a key role.

Looks like a camp QB battle will be brewing. Trey Deaton was the starter until a hand injury, and played pretty well, if memory serves.

Trey Deaton has had great numbers as a starter.

Hopefully whomever ends up losing out will be a "team player", and take on their new role...which seems it would be the case just from reading what's here.

 

A wise man once told me (former HS QB, QB all through college, successful HS coach in KY) "If you're the 5th best offensive linemen; you start. If you're the 2nd/3rd best RB; you start. If you're a top 2-4 TE/WR; you start. If you're the 2nd best QB? You sit the bench. Learn to play & be ok with other positions." AKA, "Don't put all of your eggs in one basket."

Well Bracken in my opinion was a top 10 team this year and adding another kid to a team that returned quite a few will only help. Anyone know there schedule?

Top 10? Top 10 in 1A, or top 10 in the entire state? Bracken exited the playoffs in the first round. The team that beat them exited in the second round. The team that beat them lost in the semis.
