Class 1A. I'm interested in what type of offense the coach will run.

I'm hearing some kind of spread offense.

Great news for the Polar Bears.

Top 10? Top 10 in 1A, or top 10 in the entire state? Bracken exited the playoffs in the first round. The team that beat them exited in the second round. The team that beat them lost in the semis.

Not top 10 in 2016; but, could be there this year for sure. The strides the Bears made under Coach Sizemore were quantum. Looks to me like this hire has positioned them to continue the programs upward momentum. Quality programs are programs that have enough depth to have real competition at key positions. If Bracken's special teams (namely kicking) and passing game can consistently complement the effective ground and pound and smashmouth defense of last year, real special things could be realized on the windy ridge-top. Looking forward to this season.

Well Bracken in my opinion was a top 10 team this year and adding another kid to a team that returned quite a few will only help. Anyone know there schedule?

First round exit to a top 10 1A team in the state is a pretty big jump. I hope you are right. I would love to see them continue to improve. I love seeing NKY small school teams make runs in the playoffs.

 

What's their schedule like this year? Is there more competition to truly tell that they are a top 10 team? Or will it have to wait until the playoffs to tell?

I think with the team they return they are top 10. I have them at the 10 spot in my rankings. But they are still other teams who could argue for that spot but I think Bracken returns more than the rest....

I would have put Bracken in 10-15 range for top 1A teams in the state.

 

Schedule this year includes district games: Bishop Brossart, Paris, Berea, Nicholas County

 

Non-District: Jackson County, and rival 3A Pendleton County will be back as well.

 

Those are all the teams I know for sure.

The trip to Jackson County will be a good one, too. The guys in the press box are a hoot, and some of the most hospitable folks we dealt with on the road at PC.
