Pittman intimidated Newport inside last time and will do the same this time. I hope i'm wrong but just can't see it.

Newport has a really nice team this year just not deep enough, and that's partly why Campbell hung around they played about 10 or 12 kid's. That's also why they can not hang with the depth of a Holmes team.

One of the parents also said that during the game last night that the Birds jv has not been tested all year. Have not had an opponent within twenty all year. Newport jv play,s pretty hard behind that Jones kid.

Newport can not control who play's for thier opponent nor can they control the polls. Just have to keep beating whoever the other team put's out there!

Mcdaniel:puke: all and said only played about a quarter in this one foul trouble he scored Newports first five points then went to the bench.

That Jones and Sizemore kid may only be 145 lbs but they are tough as nails, will put thier nose in and push and shove with anybody,two tough kid's.

Grote did play but looked rusty, Grubbs and Kowolonek did not.

That's the way i understand it also, Grubbs out of town and Kowolonek still not ready,but to my understanding Grote will be back.

This was a better game than it should have been. The Newport team let Dayton dictate the pace, Dayton stayed packed in a 2 - 3 zone all night Newport missed a lot of open outside shots. The Dayton team seems to play more team ball without the Eastin kid.

I agree would be great to see him help ND back to the top. And he has the talent that is for sure. Good luck to the young man.

Yes I saw that also, I was just going off what the player said; we know the paper is never wrong. The same article say's Mcdaniel scored 12 the box score say's he scored 11. Idk

One of the players told me that in team meeting after the game that they were told that they missed 17 free throws.

Newport was really intimidated by Pittman inside, that is why they missed so many easy shot. They also missed 17 free throws never gonna win missing free throws like that. To many senoirs on this team to not be able to shoot free throws, no excuse for that at all.

Traveling when setting up to shoot a jumper is one i know about.

I know the competion has not been great, but that offense has looked awful good and they are playing together finally.
