I would have to say the 27th district is the toughest in the state this year

Featured Replies

27th looks to be tops at this point in season- Obviously, things can change as the year goes on.

Ballard top 5 in state.

Seneca undefeated and in semis of KOB after destroying Knott Co(top 20 team)

Trinity(two close losses to top 20 teams, beat team handily that beat Holmes, beat Scott CO in scimmage)

Seneca will have a chance to prove themselves tonight against Eastern in the KOB.

You think Trinity is top 10 right now? Ballard may be deserving of a # 1 ranking.

If Trinity can beat Clark Co tonight, they would have to be considered for a spot in top 10.

If not, certainly they are a top 20 team based on perfromance so far.

If Ballard beats Holmes tonight, then they would have to be up there but Eastern and Clark Co will have the chance to determine who is number one if they meet in the finals.

I would say that if Eastern or Clark wins the KOB, I would rank that team number one in the state based on everything that has happened to date.

Ballard and Eastern appear to have the slight edge on Seneca and Trinity at this point of the season.

Absolutely agree based on what's happened so far but Seneca can make claim on one the top spots if they beat Eastern tonight.

I'll have to say that the Seneca-Knott game surprised me. I mean not that Seneca won, but that they won by 50. Evidently Seneca is loaded.

My take:

Eastern is the best team in the district. They go about their business quietly but have more overall talent than any of the other two teams mentioned and are very solid defensively. They are top 3 and if they win the KOB would have to be the #1 team in the state. I'm not so sure they aren't #1 right now to be honest.

Seneca is a very talented team. The thing that makes them so special is the depth they have. 6 players in double figures against KCC is very impressive. They're a legit top 10 team.

Trinity is the best defensive team of the bunch. They won't lose any game by more than 10 this year for the simple fact that they are one of the best defensive teams in the state. Not to mention they have one of the top 3 or 4 seniors in the state (IMO) in Josh Sewell. The reason I don't see them as a legit top 5-10 team is because of their youth and inexperience. They are, however, a good choice for 11-15.

Wow, have not seen Trinity play this year, but if they play better D than Eastern then they are awesome. Eastern goes as their defense goes. If Trinity is better defensively(than Eastern) and has Sewell they should probably be ranked in the top 5. IMO

Agree 100% with you on this one Eastern should already be the number one team in the state.
