  1. You take what you can get when you are in a brand new class (HC was 2A last year and is now 1A). Scheduling was not easy.
  2. I did mean calf. Thanks. I was in the stadium and remarked to someone near me how much those plays looked to the one in training camp. If Burrow is apprehensive about rolling to his right, that can't be a good thing.
  3. I wonder on which play that Burrow tweaked his ankle. I don't hear about it after the game, but there were a couple plays late in the 4th quarter where he rolled to his right away from the rush which reminded me of the play where he originally got hurt in training camp.
  4. Final. Game was played Saturday night due to unavailability of Stargel Stadium in Cincinnati on Friday night. Here is the stat summary for the game. http://www.turbostats.team/football/covingtonholycross/hc indians 2023_game5_box.html I had major issues with the stat software tonight. I believe that I have recovered all the individual stats. Please ignore the box score and time of possessions in the link. I can’t fix them. However, I was able to recreate a good box score for reporting. HC 7 0 6 12 25 CCPA 16 14 6 0 36 As you can see, CCPA started out strong in the first half. HC attempted a 2nd half comeback and came up short. It was the battle of the two star running backs from both teams. The Lions Rico Johnson ran 22 times for 136 yards and a TD. The Indians Ulysses Porter rushed 33 times for 220 yards and 4 more TDs. Porter is only a freshman but he finds himself at the top or near the top of a few KHSAA 1A rushing and scoring lists. Holy Cross (3-2) has a bye week coming up before the Indians take on Morgan County at home in 2 weeks.
  5. Strap the Reds on the back of my avatar! I'll get them over the line!
  6. Well, with the exception of the insurance company.
  7. In case you haven't noticed, Spectrum and Disney reached an agreement. The channels are back! I'm watching MNF now.
  8. I remember walking VERY fast to my car in downtown Cincinnati later that morning when we told to go home. A few of us were looking back at the Carew Tower (the biggest building in Cincinnati at that time) to see if it was going to get hit by a plane too.
  9. I hope that it is not raining. Forecast looks good for Sunday. I'll be there.
  10. And, I just saw that Dobbins is out of the year with an Achilles tear. Oops, I saw that @16thBBall Fanjust said that.
  11. Burrow was afraid to get full out on that calf with the combination of the Browns defense, the weather and the soft tissue injury. I think he was thinking of the perspective of the entire season.
  12. My wife came into the room to watch the game at the beginning of the 4th quarter. After Pitt got within 6 points, I told her to leave! The Bearcats hang on for the win!
  13. Here is the stat summary for the game. http://www.turbostats.team/football/covingtonholycross/hc indians 2023_game4_box.html Once again, freshman Ulysses Porter dominates for the Indians scoring 4 more touchdowns (1 receiving followed by 3 rushing). He finished with 6 carries for 88 yards. The Indians had a balanced attack tonight with 187 total yards rushing and 182 total yards passing. This team continues to impress with its corps of talented freshmen. Holy Cross is now 3-1 and travels to Ohio to play Cincinnati College Prep Academy (OH) next Friday night.
  14. Of course, I have to give kudos to the Covington Holy Cross grad, Derrick Barnes, who had 6 tackles (5 solo and 1 TFL) for the Lions.
  15. Here is the stat summary for the game. http://www.turbostats.team/football/covingtonholycross/hc indians 2023_game3_box.html Freshman Ulysses Porter has another big game for the Indians with 24 carries for 163 yards and a touchdown. In the 1st quarter, Donavan Ambrocio connected with Davonte Ryan for 28 yards. Grant County had 3 big plays for their touchdowns. Dakota Roaden goes 72 yards after a blocked FG, Chase Simpson runs one in from 44 yards and Cam Duncan connects with Kaleb Dionne for 84 yards. Holy Cross is now 2-1 and hosts Middletown Christian (OH) next Friday night. Grant County is also 2-1 and travels to Rockcastle County next Friday night.
  16. Spectrum said Disney has removed its programming. “The Walt Disney Company has removed their programming from Spectrum which creates hardship for our customers,” the company said on its DisneyESPNFairDeal.com site. This just happened tonight. No more US Open and may affect the first big weekend of College Football. This affects a lot of the channels that I personally watch. I hope Spectrum and Disney get their act together fast! https://www.beaconjournal.com/story/sports/college/football/2023/08/31/disney-spectrum-blackout-espn-contract-negotiations-thursday-college-football/70727186007/
  17. The Bears signed Trent Taylor. He is kind of related to me as my niece's husband's cousin. 😀
  18. The Covington Holy Cross football stadium is named after a bank - Republic Bank Field at Thomas More College. The HC practice is named John Wysong field at the Eva G Farris Sports Complex. Coach Wysong was the first coach of the Covington Holy Cross football team.
  19. With HC dropping to 1A this year, it was a bit challenging finding enough schools of equal size in order to schedule competitive games. Hence, the match-ups with these schools in Ohio.
  20. Here is the stat summary for the game. http://www.turbostats.team/football/covingtonholycross/hc indians 2023_game2_box.html Freshman Ulysses Porter has a big game for the Indians with 17 carries for 127 yards and 4 touchdowns. On defense, he also returned a fumble for a TD. Dohn was athletic and fast. QB Javier Shockley had a solid game. Holy Cross is now 1-1 and travels to Grant County next Friday night.
